Shocked our waitlist booked

We recently purchased our first DVC contract in January and decided to book a 2 night weekend stay in March to celebrate (resort only stay). We booked AKL savannah view because 1) it was actually available and 2) it was our first resort we went to as a couple at Disney. We waitlisted a studio at Polynesian Villas and I just thought let God decide where we stay and today we actually got the studio at the Polynesian for the weekend. I'm shocked the availability opened up almost less than a month out, but we are very excited to stay. I guess for shorter stays the availability does open up a month or two out?

Right now there is a lot of movement as I think people have amended trips.

But, yes, getting a few nights is a lot easier. I have made a few changes to my Mar trip lately…

I just cancelled 4 nights at poly in early March! We needed a bigger villa with the addition of an extra person. People are always changing their plans!

I have been stalking the same 4 nights in March for weeks. At various times, I have seen BWV, BCV, BLT, AKV, Boulder ridge, SSR and OKW open up for the whole stay. Availability is always changing!

I’ve had incredible luck waitlisting and piecing my way together to an 8 night stay at BLT in a standard view 1 bedroom February 12-20. I started piecing it together with stalking and using the waitlists last August and got the final piece of it (the first night), just two weeks ago. Definitely waitlisting one night at a time is the way to go.

It opens up a month before and all week before. Those are key timelines if you need to change your trip.

Awesome! I have my fingers crossed for my waitlist to come through end of March. I have BLT booked but we’d love to stay at BWV. Ok either way as I know it’s a long shot!

Agreed, I’m modifying my March trip tonight since there’s movement. People are trying to avoid points going into holding is my guess.

Is there a reservation watcher service for DVC like there is for Disney Dining Reservations?
