Is this more of a problem today than in the past? To the wonderful people of Europe, I would like to apologize for having stupid fellow citizens act like this in your beautiful countries. Come on Americans, behave better than this when going abroad. :sad2: 🇪🇺 🌍

Sorry, nothing shocks me any more after the last few years here in the US. No idea what's on the video. People don't respect their own country, why would they respect any other?

Stereotypes of Americans being obnoxious tourists in other countries isn't any new or unique.

Heck, crazy behavior within the US isn't anything new. People are acting up regardless of where they are.

Cbs took down the original video but here's another one that gives you an idea about some of what they were talking about.

That’s thousands of times less harmful than what happens in the US on a daily basis. A woman in CA was just murdered because she had a pride flag in front of her store. Americans abroad can be stupid morons, and it is embarrassing, but I will save my outrage for more serious issues.

We (me too) are all so afraid of calling out someone's outrageous behavior that we just allow it. Not called out, it gets worse.

We have a home in a gated community and I'm on the board. Last week one of our residents stopped a builder's employee coming in and yelled at him for "wrecking the gate and the roads". Audio/video recording of the event shows that the driver did nothing wrong, did not touch the gate, and verified the owner's outburst. It's not the first time for that owner with outbursts to other owners, our manager and our caretaker. I wanted to write the owner a violation letter telling him his behavior is unacceptable. Other board members don't want to further inflame him. I think he's gone round the bend and we could be liable if he does something that physically harms someone.

We are so afraid of being called racist (even if everyone involved is that same race), or called elitist (even if everyone involved is of similar status), or of making someone mad - or ...of getting shot. It enables them.

Oh geez. This is so asinine. And highly annoying.

No doubt, US can act like ugly tourists and sadly I think we may top the list, but we aren’t the only fools. Remember it was a British bloke that carved his gf initials into the Roman Colosseum. And I read a Swiss woman did the same copycat carving a few weeks after.

I wonder if bad behavior is amped to become viral? :rolleyes2

I spent four weeks in Europe this Summer. I didn't see any Americans behaving badly or anyone else for that matter. One video goes viral and it's an example for a whole country? I'm sure you could find videos of any nationality behaving badly if you wanted to.
