I'm looking forward to having lots of family pictures made on the ship. How much time do you spend in line waiting to have these made? I especially want our formal night with Mickey and Minnie. About how many do you usually have taken on the 4 day. Also is this different from the formal picture taking sessions they mention in the navigators? :D

The longest we waited was 10 minutes.

They come out really cute!

I think my family had opportunity to take 2-3 posed, backdropped (all different: life ring, park??, ocean, etc) portraits each night. this doesn't count all the character pictures that their official photographers will snap for you. You can also take your own pictures of the characters.

I believe these were the ones mentioned in the PN.

We didn't purchase any of the posed formal pictures. We did purchase the pictures of my family all dressed up with the characters. I was tempted but made DH toss the ones I wasn't 'in love' with quickly into the "not going to buy" bin.

HTH, if you have any other questions, just ask.

IMO 10 min wait is optimistic if the ship is full or near full. Some nights we waited 30 mins or more... our ship was full though.

and I thought the lines would be better later in the week but nope ;) I was actually surprised at the lines for autographs and pictures. For us the 20 to 30 min. was more the norm. We had much better experiences with the characters at Castaway Cay. The lines were very short and sometimes non-existent!

In any event ~ make sure to find that "happy" smile when it is time to take your picture! Our first few pictures had the "I've been in line too long" smile....lol

We were on the NYE Wonder and the ship was full. We went for our pictures around 5:30 right when they started before our dinner seating. We never waited more than 10 minutes. Now I feel like we were lucky. Perhaps we just choose a good time.

Hey Mollie Jo,

Even if you do wait in line for a while, the pictures turn out very nice (if you're wearing your "happy smile"). I'm not sure how much they cost now, but back in Sept 2001, they were $20.00. I realise with all the candid shots, as well as formal, this can set you back quite a bit, but $20.00 for a formal portrait is a great bargain. Do the pictures!

Mollie Jo,
This is a 'not to miss' photo op that will be worth your wait!
The 8x10's are $20, the 6x 8's $10. There is also a pkg. you
can sign up for, I think 10 6x8's for $85. Shutters was our
big weakness and set us back a few hundred $'s.

Our family Semi formal night :D

Thanks Guys! I think I'll try going early before dinner. I'm a sucker for these kinds of pictures, but I hate wasting my time standing in lines. I believe our March sailing is sold-out so it looks like the ship will be full. :D
