We drink a LOT of water. :drinking: I can't stand the taste of WDW water and I don't want to continually pay $2.50 a bottle So.... I was wondering since we are flying Jet Blue which allows one checked bag per person, can I check one bag which is filled with water bottles? I would pack the bottles tight with towel's or jackets or something so they wouldn't rattle around.

Has anyone done this? I don't think the airline would have a security issue with this as it would be a checked bag - but I thought I'd ask here. I'm sure I am not the first one to think of this...:cool1:

Thanks!

Have you ever watched how baggage handlers throw the bags around? On my last trip, I had a bottle of hair spray that was punctured and ended up all over my clothes. I thought I had it protected. I'm sure your fellow passengers would not appreciate getting their luggage all wet.

Either buy it at a store when you get there or have it delivered.

The other problem is the weight of the water. Your checked bags can't weigh more than 50 pounds and a full bag of water bottles would weigh a lot. I always make sure to ziploc any liquids in my luggage in an effort to minimize accidental spillage. We once had a bottle of shampoo explode and it was a mess. Water would leak through the bag and get into other people's bags, too.

Please do your fellow passengers a favor and purchase your water when you get here.

I have an issue with it, as do the other passengers who have had their items ruined by someone being careless and packing liquids.

There is water for sale all over FL; you can walk or take the bus to a Hess station, preorder from a delivery service, rent a car for the day, take a taxi to the grocery store, book a car service with a grocery stop, etc etc etc.

Your decision to check water can negatively impact others, and hopefully now that you are made aware of this you will consider a different option.

We always order cases of water from Staples and have it delivered to the resort. They frequently offer free shipping for Staples Rewards members so it usually only costs me about $7-8 a case. And I don't have to lug it around.

I would heartily recommend against packing water bottles in your checked bags. It's just not fair to other travelers. Do you really want to be responsible for soaking someone else's clothing or other possesions? You have to understand that 'accidents' happen. I've seen the way those bags are handled..and it's not nicely!! Do Not take the chance of split open water bottles, leaking all over everyone else's stuff...just for the sake of saving a few dollars.
No one likes to spend $2.50 for a bottle of water at WDW...but, it's part of doing business at WDW. You can always book a grocery delivery service, and have water and other food stuffs delivered right to your resort. You will have to pay a delivery charge of about $12 or so, plus a possible tip. But, you will have a nice supply of snacks, food, water, soda right in your room.

I've packed water with no problems. I put the bottles in ziploc bags and cushion them with clothes. Just watch the weight...
