I would like to ship some items to my resort so I don't have to lug them on the plane. I am a little nervous about this so here is my question. Has anyone, on these boards, had an item shipped to your resort, and had it lost or never found by the resort? I am pretty sure that sending it USPS they wouldn't lose it but I was wondering if a resort has ever misplaced a box.

They were great about it when I did this last year! Remember to pack a shipping label and some packing tape so that you can send the box home with stuff you don't want to carry home on the plane! They took care of shipping it back for us...I just left it at the front desk.

we have shipped 2 years in a row to POR and have never had a problem! we usually ship baby items like diapers, wipes, formula, food and bottles. It works out great not having to pack all of that!

We have had a case of water shipped every year and have never had an issue. They hold it at the front desk for you and usually will deliver it to your room after you arrive.

This is probably a no-brainer but make sure you put your arrival date on the label!!!

I think there is a $5 charge now for the resorts to hold your shipments.

Hey thanks. I was thinking about packing things like contact lense solution and other personal items. This way I can just take a carry on.

We did this a few years ago and it was so worth it! You might want to check into shipping UPS instead of USPS. It might be cheaper unless you're fitting everything in a flat rate box. We shipped baby items so we needed a BIG box. Like a PP said, we then saved the box and sent home souveneirs in it. The concierge handled that for us. There used to be a really good thread that listed the correct mailing addresses and labeling tips for doing this. I can't ever get the search function here to come up with what I'm looking for :confused3 but if you post on the resorts page I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction!

FedEx Ground was the cheapest for us and it was SO handy to have a tracking number (we actually needed it one trip, the GF had misplaced it, but as soon as we produced the tracking number, they found it). It was cheaper than the USPS - so check it out...

In other words, how long will they hold the package for you?

I know I have read threads about people trying to "time" their water delivery for a day before they arrive. However, we will be in DC for a little more than a week before arriving in WDW, so the package could be at the resort close to a week. Will they hold it that long? We are coming from CA and I'd really love to ship the things we'll need only at WDW rather than lug them with us through multiple airports and DC.

This is all great info thank you so much. As for shipping items from WDW to home...do I have to have a shipping label with postage on it? Or if I ship an item (flat rate for example) can I pay at WDW for the shipping home? What if I use FedEx or UPS.
