with all the $ spent on this trip, I'm not sure if this is getting a little too crazy, but... how much is a bottle of water at the resorts, parks? My dh and I always have a bottle of water with us, and here's my thought..If we each, say have 3 bottles per day @ .30 each (costco) =.90 per day x 2 = 1.80 x
7 days = $12.60 vs $2 ish x 3 =6.00 x2 = 12.00 x 7 = 84.00 a difference of
$71.40..how much could it cost to ship from CA to FL? $8? the $63.40 est savings would be a casual sit down lunch for 2--am I overthinking this--is it worth the extra trouble?? are my estimates in line? am I guilty of fuzzy math?

I have shipped to the resort ahead of time, snacks, diapers, toiletries. I have never shipped water. I think that would be extremely expensive due to the weight. It cost me $18, to ship dry goods.

If you will not have a rental car, and will not be taking a car service to the resort (most of them provide a 20-30 minute grocery stop), there is a grocery delivery service. www.wegoshop.com They will deliver right to your door, at the resort, for a fairly resonable delivery fee. $15/for $100.00 in groceries. I think the fee is $20/for up to $150.

That seems like a cheaper option. They will shop whereever you want them to. Publix, or superwalmart are about the cheapest.

Definately try to have some water in your room. My family gets 2 bottles per day/per person, and then gets soda, pop, and beer, along with some quick snacks for the room: granola bars, fruit, pop tarts. It really helps save a bundle. We figure it saves us well over $100/for the week.

Have a great trip.

An alternative would be to purchase the Brita Fill & Go Sport bottles for each family member. There's a filter in the lid that does a great job of removing the nasty taste from WDW water. It's so much cheaper than buying bottled water.

Another possibility would be to have a shopping service like WeGoShop.com get the cases of bottled water and other grocery items for you and deliver them right to the resort. They charge a $15 delivery fee in addition to the cost of the groceries. It certainly would be less than shipping a case of water. Plus you can have perishables on the list like milk, fruit and cheeses.

I've never shipped water but always ship a box of clothes with an extra duffle bag. We hate checking bags and only take carry ons so we don't have to wait for luggage. Once we arrive at the hotel we have the box or boxes delivered. I also use we go shop - they are wonderful and bring the water and whatever treats I have requested.

thanks for the tips guys! I've looked into the wegoshop.com, and that does seem to be a good alternative, especially since DH :smooth: likes milk and cookies at night, cereal in the morning
