Shipping to a Non-US Port

We're taking the Northern European cruise in late May and flying Norwegian Air (super cheap), but it only allows a single 44lb checked bag and single 22lb carry on bag. I love to participate in FE, but am worried about weight. Anyone know if you can ship to a Disney ship in advance of your cruise if it departs out of say Copenhagen, Denmark??

No. DCL does not accept private deliveries in foreign ports. But you could ship it to a hotel, if you are staying in one prior to the cruise, probably.

I don't think you can. I was on the June 2016 cruise to the fjords, and one person wanted to ship her FE and I think she ended up taking it with her. I think you can ship stuff to the hotel your staying at.

Hmmm...we were going to AirBnB it. But, another family we know on the cruise is staying at a nearby hotel. Great idea - I'll look into that.

I think the costs for that service are more than paying for an extra bag would be.

Assuming the 3 in your signature are going, first check to see if the checked bag and carryon for each of you would end up over the weight if you did a FE. If yes, honestly I'd just skip the FE.

I didn't check out the costs on the link you were responding to, but $15 per 2+ pounds is pretty high!

Keep in mind that shipping time to Europe from the US can be very long. I have had packages sent to me that took 6 weeks, others arrived within 10 days. Also, shipping is fairly expensive and you will have stuff from the FE to take back as well. It might be more economical to purchase a second bag allowance from Norwegian to give you the extra space and weight.

just pay for the extra bag on your flight, or overweight..
shipping overseas is very expensive, takes a long time, and you always have the chance of encountering customs duties (even if what you send isn't very valuable, they might charge you for it - they decide what something is worth)..
just take it with you and pay for extra baggage if you have to......

Oh, totally forgot about this! That is a great point. Especially a whole box of FE gifts could cause some problems with customs and if you are charged duty, the package will not be delivered to the end address, but you will have to go to either the post office or the customs office in person to pay the duty and get your stuff.

You all have convinced me, just going to pay for the extra checked bag ($65) that way I can bring home souvenirs!!
