Hello!

We leave in 18 days and will check into BLT. :cool1:

Currently we live outside the US, and we are having a baby soon, so I wanted to ship some necessary things (using Amazon prime free shipping) to the hotel. I would like to ship a car seat, stroller, swing and a few other items that we will then fly home with.

My question is has anyone ever shipped things that are a little larger to the hotel and does Disney charge you to accept them/store them until you get there? I read somewhere that Disney hotels that have a convention center charge, but would this apply to DVC??

Anyone?

My wife had a couple of packages sent to the resort when we stayed at BLT last fall. They end up in the shipping center, a fedex/ups type store in the convention center at the Contemporary Resort. There was a fee to retreive them, I cant remember how much, so we had to go pick them up, bell services would not because of the fee that had to be paid, but maybe if you went with them and paid for them they could bring them to your room for you?

You will have a charge based on the weight of the boxes shipped because BLT recieving is at the convention center.

I had a couple of boxes shipped ahead to BLT and I was charged for the service as well. However, they added it to my room charge and bell services delivered the packages.

Just curious about shipping in general. Do they charge if you ship yourself a package?

We were thinking of shipping ourselves a box with some food items, and maybe a few bottles of wine. We fly down, so we never have a car, and Disney's selections of adult beverages to keep in your room is rather narrow (not to mention outrageously priced. Is this even legal to ship wine? I wouldn't know. Just trying to lighten the load on the plane with the food boxes, and slip some extras in there.

Last year, we packed an extra suitcase full of cereal, pasta, snacks, etc. Not to bad when flying southwest, but if we have to use another airline, shipping HAS to cost less than the bag fees.

Do they charge if you ship yourself a package?

If your hotel has a convention center (as PP's does), then there is a charge when a package is shipped to you. It doesn't matter if you shipped the package to yourself, or someone else shipped it to you.

The fee is based on the weight of the package. In March 2011, the fees were:
1 to 4 pounds: $3
5 to 20 pounds: $5
21 to 70 pounds: $10
over 70 pounds: $0.70 per pound.

We had a box shipped in august and it was HEAVY...they delivered it to our room for $5. I will always do this now..sooo worth it.

Thanks everyone! That's exactly what I needed to know. :)

Last question... Do I ship it to the CR or does BLT have it's own address?

how do I find out what the current fees are receiving merchandise?

I called CR and got the information directly from the front desk. They were very helpful...I sent it via Fedex.
