Ok so is it worth it to do this???? My mom and MOH want to ship thier dress down too,are they aloud too?

It is SO worth it to do this. Just think how many lattes you'll be able to carry around the airport with your hands free of a giant dress! :lmao:

Plus, it's only $15. Well, OK, plus the cost of shipping. I bet CA has no problem accepting MOH and MOB dresses either, but you could call and talk to Sue to be sure.

I used FedEx to ship my dress down 2 weeks before, and CA returned my dress via UPS 2 weeks after - all with no problems. :thumbsup2

I was hoping you would answer me :) Thank you so much :) I don't want to be lugging that dress around lol,the thing is so heavy.

Only 15 dollars is great,I thought it would be more...SO does she still come to the room and steam the dresses or does she steam them before she brings the dresses?

I sent them an email to see when I shuld ship the dresses down..I will do what you did though,2 weeks.

Thank's again Wendy...It's nice to see girls who have done this allready,it make's me feel so much better.

I didn't do this, but I wish I had. It was NOT easy lugging all that stuff all over the airport. It's relatively inexpensive, so why not save yourself the trouble later on? You'll have enough to worry about that day! :upsidedow

Hi Lynn,
I shipped my gown and other items to the resort were we stayed. Carolyn Allens came to the resort to steam my gown, crinnie, veil and wrap. Sue also brought DH's tux and extra shirts, pants and jackets for him to try on(just in case it didn't fit). Sue left me with paperwork if I wanted to have Carolyn Allens ship my dress home. She said to leave my dress with bell services along with the tux if I wanted. I didn't do it because my dress got trashed.

...SO does she still come to the room and steam the dresses or does she steam them before she brings the dresses?

The steaming is a separate cost, usually between $75-$100. I was going to pay for steaming anyway, so it worked out nicely. I believe they steamed the dress at the store but then touched it up in my hotel room when they brought it. I actually shipped my shrug and my dress for the one fee, and they steamed both and shipped both back.

Ok cool! I sent her an email to let her know that I want to ship my dress to her.I already have her booked.

oooh should I ship my veil too with the dress or just bring that with me along with my headpiece?

I thought about shipping my dress to CA too. I really don't want to drag it around along with all the other stuff I have to bring. But I'm a little nervous about shipping it. I'm so paranoid about it getting lost :scared1: Does CA call you to confirm that they have received the dress? I think I might use Fed Ex since they seem to have a really good tracking system.

Ship your veil! The box you send is like a Mr. Potato Head - you can cram it with as much stuff as you want for them to store and steam (well, they don't take purses or shoes, but neither does Mr. Potato Head... ). But shawls, wraps, veils, crinnies - that's all fair game.

I never thought twice about shipping the dress. I guess I trusted FedEx.... but I also insured the box for my dress's full retail value, which is more than twice what I actually paid! :thumbsup2

Carrie -

I think I'm definitely going to ship the dress, crinnie, and veil. If its anyone who has convinced me to do it - its you :rotfl:

I have been thinking about this a lot too. I don't want to risk taking it on the plane and having no place for my dress.

I emailed CA's the other day and she told me they haven't had problems with recieving dresses. SHe also said the only time they have problems is when brides try to take them on planes. She told me to make sure I send it UPS. So now I don't know since everyone else is saying FedEX.

She prolly said UPS because that's the shipper they use to return it. I guess UPS picks up directly from their store, whereas they would have to take your dress to FedEx to send it that way. I chose FedEX because it was cheap and convenient - it cost me $19 to send my dress FedEx, whereas CA quoted me $35 UPS to return it.

I shipped my dress and my daughter's MOH in the same box along with her shawl. My BM lived in another state, so she shipped hers as well. Just make sure CA knows to look for more than one box for your steaming and delivery. Also make sure other boxes are all marked with your name and wedding date to help CA get them all together. All of our dresses were steamed before they delivered them, but they brought the steamer along for touch ups. That way it takes less time at your room and you can get out to the parks sooner ! Then I had mine cleaned and sent back afterwards, so I didn't have to lug it home either ! They picked it up at the bell stand with the tuxes the day after the wedding. SOOOO convenient !!!
