Hi All,
I've shipped boxes to the port before with no issues. I am trying not to check luggage this time, so I was hoping to send some things beforehand.

Would anyone know if Sunblock (the spray kind in the can) is considered a chemical? Has anyone shipped sunblock before? Any issues?

TIA!

When we didn't check luggage a few times, we got our driver to stop at a Publix, we ran out for just a few items: water, wine and sunblock. Also, if that won't work, there are now less than 4 oz cans of spray sunblock I've found that you can put in your carryon. Just in case the shipping doesn't work out.

Thanks for the response. I may just go with several of those 4 oz ones. We are spending 4 nights post cruise at GF, so I need a lot of it. Better safe than sorry. I don't want my box flagged.

I've been using a solid sunscreen from Neutrogena. It's the Ultra Sheer Face & Body Stick sunscreen. CVS had only SPF 70, which is overkill. It works really well. I burn pretty quickly, and this really protects my skin. Since it's a solid, you can put it in your carry-on bag and not have to claim it as a liquid.

Awesome idea!

3.4oz is what is allowed in your 311 baggie. As many as can fit, but each bottle is 3.4oz or under.

Thanks Everyone. I was hoping someone had experience shipping the spray sunblock without incident. I'll call DCL.

I appreciate the suggestions, but I am taking DCL transfers, and don't want to check luggage. Thanks again!!!

The stick is a solid, not liquid, so it should be good. PP had no issues with it. THX.

We definitely packed the solid in our carryons (a Neutrogena stick called Beach Defense in a yellow container that looks a lot like deodorant). The Coppertone spray was definitely under the TSA limit; I'm pretty sure it was designed for that purpose. Good luck!

PERFECT!!! THANKS!!!! Great info!

Another vote for the stick! I'm a fair red head who burns very easy and that stick is AMAZING! We used it on our entire family last year on our cruise/WDW trip. What's great is it fits in a purse for excursions really easily for reapplication. The sprays, I've found, can easily miss spots on me if the wind blows while applying (plus makes things so greasy on the verandah). There also is a Neutrogena Sport stick that is I think SPF 50 (?) that is waterproof/sweatproof that we had as well (in a blue package with yellow top). I don't know why you'd have problems shipping aerosol sunscreen as it gets shipped to you from Amazon, etc. If it's that important, I'm sure a call to DCL would clear it up :-) Oh, and the stick lasted quite a while!

When the sprays get shipped to our home, they are labeled as some sort of hazard. I think they have to go by ground. When I took it on the plane in my carry on, I was fully prepared for it to be taken by TSA, but i declared it, and it was fine.

Another fan of this type!! We brought it in our carry-on luggage to Aulani last year. It is easier to put on the kids than a standard liquid, doesn't leave that weird yellowing stain that the sprays do, and no one got burned in the slightest after a week plus there (kids are blue eyed blondies, although brunette me will burn faster than the rest of my crew).

I got it at my local CVS. I will note that I live in Phoenix, and I'm surprised how much smaller the sunscreen sections are in midwestern and east coast stores now that I'm used to AZ's options. I often ordered sunscreen from Amazon when we lived on the east coast, if you don't find it in a store.
