I know about shipping stuff to the resort, but what about shipping stuff home? Is that fairly easily done? I was thinking about getting one of those flat rate boxes from the USPS, get it all ready with mailing label and pre-paying the shipping on the box so that when I'm at WDW resort, I can just package it up, and drop it off. Can that be accomplished? We won't have a car so we can't drive it to the post office. Where would I drop the box off to have it picked up by the USPS? Would guest services/concierge take care of that? Or would it be better off to do UPS or FedEx?

I've shipped boxes home from BC and AKL with no problem. The front desk was able to tape up the box, weigh it and take care of the shipping label. They charged my cc for the shipping fee.

Thanks for posting this question and for everyone who answers! I've never thought to do this but it would make packing up to go home much easier!

Can the shop that you're buying from ship it home instead of it coming to the resort? I've got a souvenier in mind that might be a bit heavy. :>

I've shipped merchandise home from the stores before but you pay shipping based on purchase price and not weight. It might just be cheaper to ship to the resort and then do the usps shipping home yourself :)

Yes, if you are just wanting to ship one specific thing, Disney will box it up at the gift shop and have it sent home. It is probably a little pricier than packaging it up yourself, but they pack it really well.

It's very easy to ship stuff home as we do it every trip. We get everything packaged up the night before check out and then take it to the front desk where they weigh it, print out the address label, and it goes out UPS from there. Our packages usually arrive home 2-3 days after we do.

You can ship from the shop you buy from, but I agree with the pp's that I think it costs quite a bit more because they charge by cost rather than weight.

Thanks. I might be willing to spend the extra to make sure it's packed well. I wanted to buy something from Morocco for my new house, either a lamp, which might be fragile, or a fountain (if not too spendy) which would be heavy. :)

Thank you all for your responses!

Can you only do it via UPS? Would they accept a package that's already pre-paid via USPS? I was thinking about just doing one of those flat rate boxes from the post office, get it all set up, pre-paid, mailing label before we leave for WDW and just drop it off before we leave the resort. Would the front desk take a package like that to be sent off?

It doesn't have to be a convention center resort for them to provide shipping services, right?

Did you ever get an answer for this regarding the prepaid USPS shipments? I'm wondering the exact same thing.

The store in Morocco should be able to ship the item for you. We bought an item in China and they shipped it to our house.

I agree. If I was buying something fragile like a lamp or fountain, I'd spend the extra to have it shipped from the shop I buy it from. I would feel more comfortable having them package it and ship it out.

I've never done the pre-paid boxes as I've always shipped UPS through the front desk of our resort, so I'm not sure how that would work. Hopefully someone else will be able to give some input on the pre-paid boxes.

You can ship from any resort, it doesn't have to be a convention center resort.

I've never shipped using the pre-paid boxes, but hopefully someone else will be able to answer whether or not that's easily done from the resorts.
