Hello,

I'm not sure if anyone can answer this for me but is it possible to ship your souvenirs from your resort to your home? We are flying in and I'm concerned I won't have any room in the bags to bring back the souvenirs. I have a list of stuff I have to pick up right before Xmas for different family members and I want to make sure I can get them all back! Has anyone done this? I am staying at ASMo if that makes a difference. If you did, how much did it cost? We will not have a rental car either.

You can ship from any gift shop I believe...resort, park, or DTD. We just got back and had Mickey ears, a teapot, and a ceramic spoon holder shipped from the Confectionary store in the MK. Our shipping cost was around $15-16for standard UPS. Be advised though, that the shipping costs are reflected by how much the items you are shipping cost. So if you have very expensive items (or small items) that you can take back home yourself, it might would be wise to do that. They do take great care in their shipping and we've never had anything broken in shipping.

Hope this helps!:thumbsup2

You can definitely Ship to your home, we don't all the time! the cost is based on how much $ you spend. Generally for us it is about $20 each time. We have also shipped a bunch to our hotel room, went to the hotel store and got an empty box, packed it up and went to the front desk and shipped it home that way. That is much cheaper, it is just based on your weight, not your $ amount.

If you ship to your home from the gift shops, you do not have to pay sales tax if you live outside of Florida. I always did it at the time of purchase. I would go to World of Disney and buy as many of my needed items as possible and have them all shipped together. The exemption of sales tax makes the shipping fees less onerous. Disney is responsible for safely packing and shipping the items and will take responsibility if anything is damaged. You must do this at the time of purchase in the stores. You can't buy souvenirs and take them to your room and then decide to have a shop ship them.

The front desk can help you ship items by UPS or FedEx, but the cost seems to be higher. You need to do that a day or two early so it can be charged to your room. You are also responsible for packing the box. Disney will not be responsible if something happens to the box and contents during packing and shipping.

I went home in May with not as many souvenirs because I wouldn't have been able to take that much back with me on the plane. This time around I will definitely ship some items home from the gift shop or hotel. It definitely makes it easier.

First of all, I have never bought anything at Disney and NOT been charged tax, regardless if i take it there or ship it home. When you order from the Disney Store, they charge you tax, do they not?

And when you go to the store at your hotel, they are usually more than happy to give you some packing materials. The store at your hotel will NOT ship it for you, you need to go to the front desk. Last time we did this, we got some of those gift with purchase towels. We used those to help pack our box, as well as what the store gave us. We never had a problem getting everything in one piece when it arrived. Just trying to throw out another option to the OP.

We do this every trip and as others have already said, you are more then welcome to ship things at home from the time of purchase at the store, or you can wait until right before your trip is over and then ship it all at once. I have had it where the gift shop did it right then and there for us, where we had to pack our own items in a box and then give it to the front desk, and when we were staying at both the CR and BC I had to take my items over to the convention area and have them ship our items. Like the PP said, Disney takes great care in shipping your items to your house, and if for some reason something does get broken during shipment, you can call the merchandise number and explain to them what happened and what you had and they will send you another one for free...you will have to make a copy of your receipt and fax it over to them for their proof. Have a great time and most importantly have a wonderful time shopping :goodvibes.

We stay at the Boardwalk and do the same. We wait till the last day and pick everything up. Then walk it over to the convention center and ship via the FedEx station. Much cheaper and easier for me, my wife likes it because you get your package MUCH faster. No waiting for it to go to different departments before Disney ships it.

Not sure what items you want to buy and how much luggage you are already taking, but maybe you could pack an empty bag of some sort for your souvenirs. I had packed an empty backpack in a suitcase for our souvenirs and on the flight home it was just a carry on.

Oh and one other tidbit. If you are shopping in a store that is not a Disney store (ie Basin in DTD) they WILL allow you to ship back to the resort, but the resort WILL NOT ship the items back home for you. You will have no choice but to bring them to another location to ship. The same goes with any perishables.

Just an FYI

A word of warning when shipping from the hotel. We shipped this way from Beach Club and had an item get broken. I called Beach Club who contacted UPS and had me fill out a form. However, UPS could only refund the insurance money directly to the Beach Club, and even after 4 phone calls Beach Club never managed to get any money to me. They kept saying they would mail a check but never did. In the end I just gave up because we managed to glue the broken ornament and I was too frustrated to call back.

In contrast, I've also shipped directly from the gift shops and ended up with a broken item. One phone call and they simply shipped me a new item. :thumbsup2
