Hi everyone.. My DH and I will be taking our 3rd Disney Cruise in January 2011. We plan on arriving early in the morning the day before and spending the day at DTD. Has anyone ever shipped souvenirs back home from DTD? We live in New York and I am curious as to how much the shipping would be if available. Thanx

I have never shipped from Disney but I have heard that it is more expensive than shipping from the Post Office.
If you have a car you can get to the post office from DTD very easily. Go down Hotel Blvd and take a left onto 538. Then get into the right lane and take a right at Apoka/Vineland (Olive Garden will be on your right at the corner) Continue down that road about 1/2 mile and you will see the Post Office on your right.
I have shipped clothing and some stuff I bought from this post office using the boxes they sell there.

We just came back from WDW. We shipped 3 items home, and I just threw out the receipts!!! I can only remember one of them....it was for $100 or so, and the shipping via UPS ground was $19.95, no sales tax. They wrap and box everything for you, and if something arrives broken, you contact them via the green slip in the box. I always ship items when we're there on vacation, and I've never had anything broken. IMHO, it's worth the $$$ to have Disney do all the work. Just tell them at the register that you want it shipped home before they start ringing.

The shipping price is based on the cost of your items. You can see a breakdown of costs on allears here -> http://allears.net/tp/mailorder.htm From 9.95 and up. They are remarkably good about replacing breakage, most likely better than the UPS/Post Office.

I've always found that the fact that they don't charge sales tax offsets the shipping greatly. I also second the fact that they are wonderful about replacing anything that is broken quickly and for free.

I had my things shipped they packed it all up the item that was broken they replaced it I say let them ship it its worth it may cost aliitle more but if its broken they will take care of

Thanx everyone!!! Now I don't have to feel bad about purchasing souvenirs. Not that I really felt bad about purchasing anything, but I do feel bad for my DH on our last day when I am going crazy trying to fit everything into our suitcases. LOL LOL

We just returned from our honeymoon and had a couple items shipped from Disney to Kansas... They were so well packed almost didn't find the item in the box! Well worth the service rather than keeping your fingers crossed on an airplane..
