I took the advice of many on these threads and decided to ship a box to the resort to save myself some headaches since I am traveling alone with my DD when I ran into a problem I wasn't expecting. I have shipped boxes before, although I am not one who does it often, so I wasn't expecting the question, "Do you have any liquids in the box?" I replied, "Just some soap and lotion." He proceeded to open my box right there on the counter with people waiting in line behind me and started rummaging through the box removing the travel size hand sanitizer, lotion and full size pump soap (which, by the way, were all in ziplock baggies in case they leaked). He said I couldn't ship anything with alcohol in it or anything that might leak. In my head I was thinking, "WHAT??" but I didn't want to make a scene so I didn't say anything and just slipped them in my purse, paid and left.
I came home and looked on the Fedex website and it says nothing about this on the prohibited items list. I keep thinking about businesses who ship all the time. I am just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. Anyone out there who works for Fedex and can speak to this issue? If it is the rule, fine, I don't mind following the rules, but I just have never been asked this (I usually ship UPS) and can't find anything on the website that supports what he did.
