We are coming to Move our Daughter into the Disney College Program in January and will be arriving a few days to enjoy the parks before she checks in and I was wondering if I can ship a few boxes to Old Key West?

Has anyone ever done this? I was thinking like 2 - 3 boxes, as we are flying.

Will they charge us to hold them if they arrive a day before we do?

Any help will be sooo much appreciated!!

I seem to recall from an old thread that you send the package direct to the resort with a notation "Please hold for Guest: John Doe Arriving: 10/21/2012"

To be certain I would call the resort directly and ask them

The above post is correct. There isn't currently a package fee at OKW, there is a fee at BCV, BWV, and BLT.

We have done this for years, shipping via fed ex. One year we took the whole family for Christmas, and sent more than a few boxes ahead as we shipped decorations! Never had any problem doing this!

Also put your reservation number on the package - it might even be waiting in your villa when you check in! :)

Just did this last month with no problem. Be sure you do not use the US Postal System. If you do, it will not go directly to the resort. It will go to a central postal system at Disney before going to the resort. This can delay the package by quite a bit. Here is a great thread to read about how to send things to the resorts.

Be sure to take care of bell services when you pick up the boxes, but yes, this will work just fine.
