Hi everyone!
We're leaving in a few weeks for All Star Sports and I'm thinking of shipping a package to the resort full of diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, etc. I was given a PO Box as a mailing address by the resort when I called. Has anyone shipped to resorts before? Do I ship it to the regular street address? I'm just afraid it won't get there and then we'd have to go to the store for supplies if I send it to the PO Box.

Thanks so much!

I wouldn't use the P O Box. You can look up the resort's actual address here or here

I have shipped stuff down before. The hotel will hold it for you until you check in. Put your name & confirmation # on the outside of the package.

I've also used www.gardengrocer.com and liked that service a lot.

I'm starting to make a list of things to pack, what have you included? I'll take suggestions/reminders :goodvibes

Let's see...where do I begin? I bought a case of diapers (as I usually do) from Babies R Us so since we're there from the 5th-10th, I packed only a 1/4 of the case (approx. 34 diapers - I'll bring more in the diaper bag). A 1 lb. can of powdered formula, bottle liners (50 count), a box of Bibsters, a package of table toppers (awesome for restaurants' dirty table tops - Emily wants to put her mouth on everything she can!), a package of Take and Toss spoons, Take and Toss sippy cups and bowls, a dish cloth to dry the bottles overnight, sponge and trial size dish detergent, trial size Wisk (good for 4 loads of laundry), a pack of baby wipes, a can of Puffs, an extra blanket (also good to use instead of bubble wrap)...and we're not done packing it yet.

I started to just throw things I use daily in a box every time I use them in a day - that way, I know the typical things I use in a day for her and I am reminded to pack it. As for shampoo, lotion and stuff like that, it's coming with us in the suitcase rather than shipping it. I also have the rain cover for the stroller, the big sunshade attachment for the stroller (we're bringing our McLaren), and the clip on fan - which I would not go without in the heat.

This is Em's 3rd trip and she's only 10 months old (today) so I kinda know what I need to pack from experience but this is the first time I'm attempting to ship a package to the resort.

Do you have any packing suggestions/tips? I welcome any!!

Don't know why I still have this, but I do. Here is my packing list...I Know, I Know...I'm obsessed~

:worship: Wow, Lion Queen! You are awesome! Thanks for posting your list! It's a big help for all of us!

Thanks for the list. I am going to print that. Thanks again. I also am going to ship a package to my resort. :cool1:

Add bug spray and outlet covers (in case you have little ones who don't know better than checking out power outlets), and if you are nursing, disposable bra pads

I shipped diapers and such down ahead of time when we went to AS movies in Jan. They gave me a number address, do NOT use the PO box. I put our checkin date on there also just to help them.

Also I forgot to ask about it at check in and had to wait in line twice. So try to remember at check in to ask for it.

About how much does it cost to send down a box? Is it cheaper to go through the grocery delivery? Also, where did you get the stroller fan? Thank you, thank you, thank you! :teeth:

I really liked the idea someone shared here. Get a study card board box and put your address on it and take it with you as luggage. Put your stuff in there. Or for big families put in cereal, breakfast items. Small stacks and such. Saving probably $15.00 at least, instead of mailing it. Everyone gets 2 pieces of luggage so count it as one. You only have to handle at the airport to give it to the luggage people and then fetch it off the carosel? Give it to the porter if you want or take it up your self to your room. Then throw the box away before you come home. I might actually do this myself.

We've done it both ways...shipping a box and just bringing extra baggage. I have to say that I preferred the shipping method because I knew that the box of diapers, baby food, etc. had made it to the resort (via UPS tracking) before I left home. When we brought it with us, I kept worrying that if our luggage was lost, delayed, etc., we'd be in trouble!!!!

so is the shipping cost usually 15.00? for a large size box? Has anyone did this and received it at checkin?

how do you ship it with ups dose it cost more? How far in advance do you ship it? we are driving down and i need my side by side double strller and it takes all the room in the trunk! I do not know what to do!

To ship a box prirotiy for 10 ls is about $25-30.00. As not shipping priiority it might not make it.
I personally take "ghetto' luggage. No ofense to anyone out there. But we take a box and treat it as a ssuitcase. it has always made it nad if we need it to tkae things home wwe ave it with us. Or I take an extra suitcase. Seeing that there are 4 of us and we can take 8 pieces of luggage..

Also remember if you are getting a rental car... How will it all fit. That was our trouble. I sat side ways with bags on top of me..:)

Hey Jackdis,

The stroller fan - a definate must for those excrutiating Floridian summer days - is a battery operated clip on fan, so don't forget extra batteries. I got mine from Buy Buy Baby but have seen it everywhere. If you want to see it on the web, search for pinwheel fan or baby stroller fan. Happy hunting!

Thanks for the tip on the fan. I was looking for one on ebay but bid on the wrong one. I will pick this one up soon.

Thank you for the stroller fan info. Last year we bought those handheld fan/water misters (blue) that are sold in the parks. Do you think that would be good for the baby? (Just the fan....) :)

I have to say, we bought the clip on stroller fan and forgot it in the hotel so we bought a hand held water fan in the park. My DD was 3 months at the time, so she obviously couldn't hold the fan and we used an infant stroller so we had an extremely hard time trying to prop it and tie it up and stuff like that so we wouldn't have to hold it and walk next to the stroller. It's good for older kids who can hold it to position it on themselves. Also, Emily hated having the water spritzed on her even though it made it so much cooler.
