Shipping Packages prior to arrival

Now I know someone will tell me. We are headed for our first trip home on 5/4 and have a box that I want to send prior to our arrival.

How do I address the box?

Here's what I use personally and for the VB swaps:

Name of resort
For Guest __(your name)________ Arriving __(arrival date)_________
Street Address
City, State Zip

Do you use Post Office, UPS, Fed Ex ?

I've used both - UPS and USPS. UPS seems like a better deal on heavier/large items.

I often will ship things directly from amazon.com or drugstore.com to the resort. Disney addresses are actually saved in my account info at both sites!
That way, I save on shipping altogether.

What a great idea. I usually buy all new toiletries before I go on vacation and to send them directly from drugstore.com to the resort is brilliant. No lugging to the airport with you.

My question: How far in advance can you ship directly to the resort? You know how shipping might say 7-10 days, well can I order 2 weeks in advance (to make sure the order will definitely be there when I arrive)? How long will DVC hold the order?

I've never had a problem with the holding a box for a pending arrival - I figure 7 days ahead of time they'll have your name in their local system and all will be well.

I love the drugstore.com trick - discovered it awhile back when I had a hard time finding local sources for my favorite Kashi snacks. We ship a bunch of stuff I'd have bought anyway (like sunscreen) and get the free shipping.

I am also big on pre-ordering books for the beach and having them sent directly.
