Has anyone shipped their luggage to the resort before? We thought of shipping our luggage to save baggage costs. What r your opinions?

I haven't shipped luggage but I can't imagine doing so to be cost effective. You'd first need to find/purchase a box large enough and from what I was able to find online shipping a piece of luggage weighing 30lbs (a conservative weight) was ~$49.00 for one-way ground service. Airlines charge between $20-$30 each way per checked bag.

I thought of shipping my wife and son once, but never my luggage. Cost wouldn't have been an issue.

1) Shipping luggage is done all the time. *
2) It can be VERY cost effective.
3) The price is usually lower than the checked-bag fee of many airlines.

* The ones I usually notice are either FEDEX-Ground or UPS-Ground. They are
shipped 1½-weeks in advance, so the guest doesn't have to pay 2-day and/or
guaranteed delivery day charges.

Gotcha! I checked UPS Ground and perhaps the price was higher because I selected a relatively close date. The price I quoted was for a 3-day transit time.
