Is this a common practice? What all do you ship? Do the resorts mind? Are they pretty easy going about it? How would you mail and address the package?

I would address the package to:

mamamac
Disney's Wlderness Lodge
901 Timberline Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

And mark it
"Hold For Guest Arrival
May ?? 2010"

If you send it UPS check their delivery time and send it to arrive about two days before your arrival date. Print a copy of the tracking showing delivery and bring it with you in case there is any question at the desk.

This is one of my favorite tips I've ever learned on the DIS!!!! We've done it our past 2 trips. I UPS it down 1 week ahead of our trip. It is always there waitinfg for us. It is usually in the computer when you check in, that you have a package there.
I send down things that won't need to be taken home: suntan lotion, snacks, cereal, sppons , bowls, personal care items in travel sizes, wipes, diapers, pullups, disposible rain ponchos. Our 1st trip I actually made my own welcome baskets for the boys and included those. Well worth the money!!:thumbsup2

our camera broke right before we left and qvc had a great deal. So we ordered from qvc and had it shipped overnight right to the resort. no problems!

I couldn't agree more! I have been doing the water shipping via costco for the past 7 or so trips and it's really worked out great! and it's FREE!

Keep in mind that if you stay at one of the convention style hotels you may be charged a $10 handling fee on your package.. I know for sure that Poly, and all the value resorts have NOT charged a fee this past year. Yes, I know, I've been to them all this year.. :rolleyes1 got my AP for my 40th bday and I'm making the most of it! The funny thing is that I travel extensively with my DD for all star cheer and it NEVER occured to my until a few weeks ago that I should be doing this for ALL my trips that don't include me renting a car! duh!! So I am in the process now of shipping water out to Dallas for friends to use on a cheer comp weekend.

Does anyone know of a place that will ship out cases of soda? I have a friend who can't live without coca cola. Costco does not offer it, nor does amazon or drugstore.com does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks! :)
