Shipping items before wedding to hotel question?

For those of you who have shipped items to your hotel in advance I have a couple of questions:

How far in advance did you ship?

Who did you use to ship and did it show up on time?

Will they deliver it to your room?

Do they have a problem with large boxes?

We are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter? Does anyone have the shipping address?

Hmm this is a good question, I'm curious about what others have done.

I would assume that you would use fedex or ups so things are sure to get there. I wouldn't suggest sending it too far in advance.

One tip I saw was to put your check-in date and ressie number on the box so that they know you have an upcoming ressie.

I have shipped to other hotels before for my job for different events, I guess it should work very similar. Just need to clearly state on your box:

Hotel Name
Address
Hotel Phone Number
Please hold for guest: Name
Check-in Date:

You may also double check with the hotel directly just to confirm, and maybe give them heads up in case they do keep track.

that's a great idea for small gifts or decorations. if you find anything out let me know.. i"m staying at the POFQ as well! isn't it a beautiful resort?!

Talk to your planner to see if they would accept packages. I know that mine accepted a few for me a few days or so prior to the wedding. In addition, we drove alot of things down, and left them at Franc's. Check with your planner if you need them to go some where other than the hotel. The one thing I would suggest you do is not cut too close your shipping to the hotel!
