We are staying at ASMo in August and have, in the past, used Garden Grocer for an off site stay. I haven't looked into this option for the resort yet.

Can I ship a package to myself at the resort? How far in advance should I ship? What address do I use for ASMo? Has anyone done this successfully? Where does the package wait for me?

I am lactose intolerant and I like to have a few snacks I know are safe to eat. Plus, I would like to have the option of cereal for my boys in the room.

Any info is much appreciated!!

We do it all the time. I always get the address for the resort at allearsnet.com. The package should be sent to you at that resort. Example: Jane Doe, Arrival date 12/22/07, All Star Movies Resort, address. We ship ours priority UPS about a week before we leave (we are in California). When you get to your resort to check in, tell them you are expecting a package and they'll check to see if it has arrived. Ours is always waiting for us and we pick it up when we check in. Make sure to put your arrival date on the outside of the package so that the resort will know when to expect someone to pick up the package as they are not going to hold it forever. One time our package was not there when we arrived but when it came in the next day, a message was left in our room that we had a package and to see bell services to get it.

We were just there 2 weeks ago. I learned about shipping packages down from here on the DIS and boy did it work out great! I sent a box down UPS 8days before our arrival date. I tracked it online and it was deleivered to our resort (POR) 4 days later. While I was checking in I was very tired after our flight and I had completly forgotten about our package...but all of the sudden the CM checking me in stepped away for a second and then came back with my package. It was in the computer that I had a package for me. You can find resort addresses on mousesavers.com. Include on it your name in care of the resort, your arrival date, and confermation #.
It worked out great and I would do it again! I even had some personnel c are items in my box of snacks s o not to have to worry about through security!:)

I've always done this too! Usually send mine UPS a week ahead of time. That way, I can call the resort a day or two before my arrival to make sure it's there. Never have had a problem.

Just one minor correction to the previous posts. The front desk at BWV told me to address the box to the RESORT; on the last line of the address label add: Hold for: Your name; check-in date.

FYI - you can also ship boxes BACK home from the resort. Check this forum - there is a thread from yesterday about doing that!:thumbsup2
