ok now, I realize this changes depending on how far you're shipping the item, but if I could get some ideas of how much it has cost others to ship things to their homes I could get an idea. How much has it cost you guys to ship something from a store at WDW to your home?? (particularly in the USA and Canada...well, southern ontario mostly), but anything would help! Thanks! :thumbsup2

My job requires that I know something about UPS shipping charges.

Charges are determined by the distance, weight, and size of the package. There is also an add on if you need insurance (for anything worth more than $100.00). Some companies add a handling charge on top of the actual shipping charges.

Then there are also places that charge a set shipping charge depending on how much you spend.

If you go to the UPS web site I think you can get an idea of the UPS rates by typing in the ship from zip code and the ship to zip code, the approximate weight, and the approximate measurements of the box. Go to UPS.com and click on the country, then calculate time and cost - then just fill in the blanks, it fairly easy.

I know this doesn't answer your question but it might give you a tool to get an idea.

We shipped a few things. Max was 16.95 (with a min. purchase of $50 I think). So you could buy all sorts of things and as long as you spent over the $50 the max shipping cost was 16.95. I bought a lot of souvenirs for people at home, including 2 cookie jars, and it only cost 16.95 to ship it all. IT did take a while to get to us, maybe 2 weeks. Then we had a couple posters made from the photos on rides, and those cost $10 or so to ship home, each. Thats all we shipped, so thats all I can share, but that should give you an idea.

I think I remember, May 2005 -- $32 for a box containing a 12x12 scrapbook and 2 Buzz lightyear guns (like the ones on the ride) Shipped from our resort, AS Sp, to NJ. We shipped from the resort because we didn't realize that it wouldn't fit in our luggage. I think we paid for 2-3 day shipping -- I was upset that hubby paid what I considered a ridiculous amount. (However, I really have no idea what normal shipping costs are, so my opinion had no basis) We did not get the package in 2-3 days -- we called several times. They shipped it by regular mail in error. We did get a refund for the difference.

This December, I expect to have to ship back stuff and I am planning on the fast shipping (have to have the presents in time for Christmas). But now that I write this, maybe I should really look into how much another suitcase would cost -- probably close to what it will cost me to ship my presents.

I thought the shipping fee was determined by the purchase total? No?

Also, don't forget that you save the sales tax by having things shipped out of state.
