Okay....so i'm hoping that someone on here can help me with this because I'm at a complete loss.

I'm baking cookies this weekend but they need to be shipped to virginia (we live in california). I have never mailed cookies before and I have no idea how on earth to package them. I'm really concerned about spending so much time baking and having the cookies destroyed before they get there.

I am shipping them to my old work. There are going to be packages of cookies for 6 people inside of the box. I want each person to have their own package of cookies but how do i ship them without them breaking?? Has anyone shipped cookies before??

I shipped cookies to DS19 at college and he said they were all intact and none were broken. I wrapped them individually in wax paper and stacked them in a ziploc container. I used the large rectangle one since they were all going to him, then I put that in the box I was mailing.

Good luck!!

MY mom used to send them to me when I was in college, she would either use a tin or gladware and stuff it FULL of cookies, then wrap the outside in bubble wrap and tissue paper. :goodvibes Yummy.

I shipped cookies to DD in college all 4 years she was there, maybe 6 times a year.
Pack them tight so they don't move around much.
Pack each type separate so the flavors don't cross.
Pad around them in the box well.
I used plastic wrap and did them tightly. Then in smaller boxes, plastic containers or tins.
That would be the way to go if you are doing them for different people. Each could have their own container.
But.....tightness is the key to them not breaking.

I have posted this on a cookie newsgroup for years, maybe it will also help.

* Pack cookies in a strong cardboard box, a metal container, or a can
with a plastic lid.
* When using a cardboard box, line it with plastic wrap, waxed paper
or foil. Cookies can absorb cardboard flavor or aroma from a box.
* Pack cookies in the container between layers of crumpled waxed paper
or bubble wrap, beginning and ending with a cushioning layer.
* Pack the box full enough to prevent any shifting of the cookies when
it is closed.
* When sending more than one type of cookie, wrap each type separately
so flavors don't co-mingle.
* Place the cookie container in a sturdy corrugated cardboard carton
with rigid sides. The carton should be big enough to leave several
inches all around for cushioning. Cushion box with crumpled newspaper,
bubble wrap, foam pellets or shredded paper.
* Seal the box with strapping tape, address clearly, cover the address
with transparent tape to protect it from blurring and mark it
PERISHABLE.
