Ok, I decided to have a box shipped ahead to our resort. What is the address of the Port Orleans - Riverside? How do you mark the box? How far ahead do you ship it. Please, need details and how do you pick this up? A full detail of what to pack, how, where, when etc, etc.

So appreciating your input and suggestions.::worship:

What is the address of the Port Orleans - Riverside?
Port Orleans Riverside Resort Address:
1251 Riverside Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL, 32830
407-934-6000

How do you mark the box? ?

I printed out the address from the computer really large and taped it to the top of the box. Then I made 5 labels very large that said "Hold for guest: (insert name) Arriving on: (insert date). I put one label on each side of the box just incase the box is piled high in the luggage room, they can locate it easy with your name on all sides. I also made "This End Up" signs. Just cause I packed it so nice I wanted it to stay right side up :goodvibes

How far ahead do you ship it. ?
I shiped UPS exactly one week from check in. I ship 5 day ground and it always gets there in 3 days. They'll hold it for you.

Please, need details and how do you pick this up? .?

Once you check into your resort and you are in your room, you call the luggage desk and they will deliver your box.

I ship cereals, snacks, juice boxes, air freshener, laundry detergent, wipes, diapers, hand sanitizer, disposable sippy cups, crystal lite to go, etc... The box sits in the corner of my dining room and whenever I go shopping and I think of something for WDW, I buy two and one goes in the box;)

hi Poochie,

Disney's Riverside Resort is located at 1251 Dixie Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. On the box in the lower left next to an "Attn:", I would write the name under which the reservation was made, the reservation number, and the check-in date/expected arrival time.

Your optimal mailing time depends on your chosen mail carrier. Check with your carrier for specific timing advice.

Have a wonderful vacation!!

I would phone the resort. The DIS has the address as:
Port Orleans Riverside Resort Address:

So that's two different street addresses!

Don't use an address with a PO Box, it has to be a street address.

Don't send it US MAIL, it will go to a central mail center and never be found :scared1: until probably after your vacation :rotfl:

Use either UPS or FEDEX. My box was almost 30lbs and for 5 day ground from NYC it cost $15. I expected it to be much more.

Just call the front desk tomorrow morning and ask them.

You are right about the PO box part potentially causing confusion. I think I will edit my response and take the PO box part out. I haven't ever shipped anything to myself, but where she had 0 replies and it was falling down the list I just looked up the address and pasted it in there. Great shipping advice, goofygal531, I will remember this information. TTFN :goodvibes

If you've never shipped anything to a resort than why are you giving shipping advice? :confused3

Anybody ever ship back? Can you just leave the box with Disney and then take off for your flight??
Any info would be appreciated.

I think you can purchase a prepaid return sticker to put on your box. If you do this, I believe disney can have it sent for you.

For store merchandise, we have WDW ship items for us. They'll package it, box it and handle everything.

If you're talking about shipping back the same box that you sent to your resort, just ask UPS/FEDEX to give you a prepaid return label. UPS/FEDEX visit each resort daily, you don't need to call prior for a pick up. Just leave it with the front desk.

One other thing I forgot to mention, make sure if you have something to open the box up with like a key or a plastic knife. I used so much packaging tape that I had to kick the box to get it open!:rotfl:

Thank you everyone for the great advise.

OMG:lmao: :rotfl2: That must have been hysterical to watch. I will have to remember your advise about a means to open the box. I too am a tape freak.

Just a thought that I like to throw in to people who are considering shipping a package. If you are only shipping things that you will not bring back, such as food and diapers, think about garden grocer. We ordered our diapers and baby needs, as well as food and drinks. We were able to feed the kids in the room as we got ready...saved a lot of time and money:) It also saved me the hassle of purchasing and shipping the items myself.
