I want to order a case of bottled water and have it shipped to our hotel. I can find great prices for the water itself (~$6 on Amazon for a 24 pack) but then the shipping charges are $13+!! This sort of defeats the purpose.

Is there a better way to do this?

Well the problem is that we're flying, so we won't have a car or any way to get to a grocery store. That is why we are shipping it ahead of time.

Consider buying it from Staples. They do free shipping if you purchase $50 or more worth of any products, so you can buy other snacks or whatever to reach $50 and pay no shipping charge.

I believe Walmart has a 97cent shipping option. I dont know the details but I've seen it referenced here on the boards before.

Do you have a Staples rewards card? You can order a case of water from staples.com for $6.99. With the card, shipping is free. (No minimum purchase required.)

What resort are you staying at? If the resort has a conferecnce center you may be charged a handling fee for them accepting the delivery.

If you have a Target debit card, shipping is free plus you get 5% off!

I know we all want to save money but take advantage of possible free shipping on bottled water? You are really OK that some store has to deliver this 30 pound package for free while making $1 from your purchase?

I don't make the stores policies, they do. If they want to restrict free shipping to only purchases over a certain $ amount, they are welcome to do it. Target gives debit card holders free shipping on target.com purchases. There is no minimum order. This is not my problem, and is not me "taking advantage" of anyone.

As I recall, Target doesn't have bottled water for shipping online (at least when I looked last year).

If you belong to Costco or Sam's Club, you can get a case of 24 shipped to you for less than $10. Make sure you stay at a non-convention resort (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Contemporary are ALL convention resorts!)

Yes, I'm okay with that. They offer to sell it at that price, why shouldn't I buy it? It's no different than any other loss leader that the grocery store sells or any doorbuster promo on Black Friday. They are hoping to get me to buy more things than just one, it doens't mean I HAVE to buy other things. They are also gaining goodwill, and making it more likely that I will buy from them another time, so they'll eventually win anyway.

I would have no problem with ordering water from Staples if I wanted it delivered for free. I own a business and I spend a considerable amount of money at Staples throughout the year. If they take a hit on shipping water to me at Disney, they more than make up for it on the printer ink, envelopes and paper that I buy the rest of the year.

What is this handling fee?? We are staying at the Contemporary. So if I ship a box of snacks there, they'll charge me for that?? WHY???

We ordered from Walmart online last year. A few cases of water, snack items, sunscreen, etc... I think we either got free shipping or $.97 shipping. Have a great trip! :)

If you are staying at a resort with a convention component, shipping/receiving has been outsourced and there is a fee. There is a sticky at the top of the Resorts board with the details.

Disney has an outside company handle their incoming packages at convention hotels because convention vendors often send many, heavy packages for displays and seminars. The outside company passes the cost on to Disney, who then passes the cost on to the guests who are actually using the service. The price can vary anywhere from $10-$15 per package. And sometimes you will get a little pixie dust and the fee will be waived.

Don't forget that in addition to any package handling fee you might be charged, you should also tip a few bucks to the bellhop who brings that package to your room. They rely on their tips and they have nothing to do with the package handling fees that Disney charges in the convention hotels.

We ship water to our Disney resorts regularly from Sams Club on their website. Check it out. It's a REALLY good deal!!!! ;) We've never been charged a fee from the Disney Resorts for delivering the water to our room when it arrived.

Yes they will. The shipments go through a non-Disney delivery source at those convention resorts (those resorts which have convention centers near them)
