Does anyone have a rough idea of how much shipping prices are from Disney to the UK? Do you also know how long it takes? Also can you buy things from several stores and get one store to send it to you all together?

I wan't to ship so plates and bowls back from the Disney home shop in Downtown Disney this time i go and possibly put Christmas decorations from the Disney shop in there too. There too delicate to take home on the plane. I'm hoping there get back to the UK ok being sent back.

Thanks

Be interested as well, love their bits and never know how to get it back

It's quite expensive. I have purchased items that are not overly heavy like towels, clothing, CDs and things like that and paid a fair bit for the postage. But that isn't what really hits you - Customs will charge you a duty based on the value of the items as listed on the Customs Declaration label and this can be quite hefty. Expect the item you buy to cost you double by the time you have it in your hand. Is there no way you could bring them back with you? If you tell them at the store that you need it wrapped to take on a flight they will do this for you. I have brought snow globes and breakable ornaments back with me. The snow globes had to go in hold luggage with the liquid rules, but they wrapped them for me and were absolutely fine on the trip.

i have brought back alot of xmas decorations from wdw as has my little sis :hug: for me, on her numerous trips, in our luggage and not one bauble broke!! they wrap them really well in the shops then we wrap clothes around them! xx

in 2009 we had r luggage searched though! (with the baubles in) luckily none of those broke xx good luck with the dinner sets! think i would prob bring them back in hand luggage xxx customs charges r a nuisance.... then having to go and collect them from the depo!!!:rolleyes1

:santa::santa:

depending on how much you want to buy, you could take it in your checked luggage - i bought quite a few mugs and and glass items - i was sure none would make it, but they all did...and despite my luggage being searched by TSA (they put their little love letter inside your case if they search it)...

all mugs and glasses arrived ok...i was really surprised as one of my suitcases was half filled with the stuff...but it came ok...i guess the luggage guerillas were gentle with my suitcases...

I too hv bought cups plates saucers yankee candles and thir lamp holders All in checked luggage. Never had anything broken. Just wrap in clothes and take some bubble wrap with you. Disney wrap really well. I would not pay those charges at all

I brought back some of those adorable Mickey kitchen items back in my checked luggage and it was fine, they weren't even in packaging due to space, I just wrapped them amongst clothing!

can't tell you how much forgotten but we used this service in 2007. (I was the mad parent who told my dd you can have one thing - anything from the Christmas shop in DTD and she then chose the two foot Minnie Mouse for the top of the tree :) )

We ordered the MM on the first day of our last week at WDW and it arrived two days before we returned so Thursday to Tuesday. Luckily our neighbours took delivery. Arrived in perfect condition.
