Shipping A Stroller???

We're going on the Disney cruise and I usually rent a stroller from A Baby's Best Friend - but we're going to be gone for so long I thought I'd ship my own down to Disney -- probably weighs 22 lbs -- the lightweight one I have I just don't like for travel. The bigger and heavier one is more spacious and comfortable and is basically the same Graco model that ABBF rents.

I went on the USPS website and plugged some #s in (guessed the weight at 25 lbs) ....I also guessed the dimensions of the box. Came up w/ a price of about $84 - that's not worth it. Anyone know of the cheapest method to ship. We're at the Boardwalk first so I've shipped things there before and they held it for me until I came down.

thanks....we usually use one of those car seat strollers on plane so I don't want to have to bring 2 "strollers" with me
thanks!!!!

When I've shipped strollers, it is usually under $30 but that depends on the box dimensions and how far it is going. Fedex Ground used to be cheapest for shipping strollers.

Alternatively, why not use your bigger stroller in the airport with the car seat set into it (I bet it would fit) and leave the car seat stroller frame at home?

I used to use the big stroller w/ the car seat (infant carrier) in it -- but our DS is now 18 months - so I have a car seat for him (toddler size) that actually converts to a stroller but it is very low to the ground and there is bonnet on it - so I would have to bring that one on the plane (since I have a seat for him)...the last time on Jet Blue they asked me if I wanted to "gate check" the carseat - which I was so happy about b/c he never sits in it anyway and it just takes up the space of his seat ....he is still under two (and the airline requires a carseat) but if he isnt' sitting it in what's the difference. Maybe I could get away with him being 2 yo and just bring the big stroller and bag the "car seat" stroller....now I'm confused:confused:
