I'm going to be staying at AKL in May, and I'm trying to decide if I should do Garden Grocer or ship a package of baby supplies, etc down there.. I also don't know if I should order from Diapers.com and have that shipped to the resort instead. I've done Garden Grocer in the past, but I saw that their prices went up a big, and I thought it might save some money to ship something myself. Are there any fees at the resort to do this? Has anyone done this successfully? What would you suggest?
Thank you!

I believe that only the convention resorts charge a fee to receive a package, so you should be good. AKV isn't a convention, last time I checked.

We shipped a box for a short pre-cruise stay and took the items on our cruise. It worked out very well. I'd do it this way again, for sure.

Following the cruise, we stayed at a convention moderate resort and shipped items home. We saved a lot in luggage fees as well as hassles of porting the items to the airport. Hope it works well for you.

I shipped a package in feb to POR and all went well. Sent it our a week ahead and picked up when I got there.

I Love Garden Grocer, they even put your frozen stuff in the freezer for you..They are woderful i use them every time we go :goodvibes

Tonight we did a cost comparison between GG, WGS, and renting a car for a day.

GG was the most expensive and WGS and renting a car was about the same. Renting a car gives us more flexibility so that's what we will continue to do.

Oh but when I factor in time savings, I can start enjoying my vacation right away.everything is picked out and delivered about the time I go to my room, I also pre-tip nicey, and reap the rewards of convience.

For us the time savings is no big deal. It's not like we don't vacation at WDW maybe a couple times per year and that we won't be at WDW for years and years to come. Someone who only vacations once a year might see it differently.

We don't do rope drops, never have, and sometimes we sleep in or stay up late just enjoying our resort and the sights and sounds around our resort. Rushing around and worrying about ADR's and park hours is a thing of the past for us. We like to relax and take it easy, eat in our room most nights and enjoy each others company while enjoying the magic of Disney.

The cost comparison came out with the car rental being the winner when I reserved the car from Alamo at the Dolphin. Short walk from BWV and the service there has always been great.

Isn't that just the coolest thing about vacationing with Disney... SO many options to fit various preferences!
Sometimes we ship, sometimes delivery. Are baby things all you need- then i'd ship. Need frozen or perishable, delivery.
