Hey all...

Has anyone shipped food from Amazon Pantry to HH? I'm assuming the convention hotel charge doesn't apply like it does in WDW, correct, and I should put my reservation number on the package so they know it's for me when it arrives a day earlier than we do?

Similarly, has anyone shipped from HH? There's a small box of stuff that I'd like to send home since we'll be headed to WDW following HH, and I won't have room for it in the car. I'd pre-print/pre-pay the UPS charges and just hand the box off to the person at the front desk if that's permissible?

And one last unrelated question: For a family seafood restaurant with a view (nothing we need to get dressed up for, but has really great, fairly healthy food), where would you recommend? We're only doing one meal out, so it's hard to narrow it down! :) Thanks!

I don't know if it would be any easier for you or not but there is a Kroger grocery store within 5 minutes of the HHI. For us it was easier to just take 10 minutes and run in and grab what we wanted versus worrying about shipping it down.

As far as the restaurants, our kids (and us parents) really enjoyed the view and meal at Skull Creek Boathouse - kids loved all the games and live music. Salty Dog Café was nice and had a decent view

Can't comment on shipping items, but for seafood, Ela's or Scott's. Both are decent and have views of the marina.

If you just want great food, view be darned.... look at A Low Country Backyard, Hudson's on the Dock and Sea Shanty.

Are you sure you mean "Sea Shanty" or do you mean Sea Shack? I've never heard of Sea Shanty. Black Marlin has some tables with a nice view, but not all. We've also enjoyed the view at Salty Dog. Something about HHI makes us want to eat seafood for all our meals (except breakfast).

Hh local here. Skull creek boathouse I would recommend highly for the view and nice family atmosphere with good food.

Can't comment on shipping but a 90k sq ft kroger and whole foods are both new in the past year very close to the disney resort.

We LOVE Skull Creek! We often go there more than once per trip.

And the new Kroger is awesome. I wouldn't bother having anything shipped.

Skull Creek view is supposed to be very good and great view, but every time I called(about 3-4 different nights) the wait was AT LEAST 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours(all different times too). This was the last week of May so from what I understand from locals, summer season is now" heating up with crowds" as more kids get out of school. Wait time will probably be ridiculous. We had OUTDOOR dining at Scotts(lovely view of harbor right across walking bridge from resort) and we also went to Hudsons(too long of a wait for outdoor dining, so sat inside) but enjoyed the views before dinner...Both were good food too! SEAFOOD at HHI is SO FRESH AND DELIC!!:cheer2:Miss it already!:sad:Will post a separate pic from Hudsons and from Scotts(tried uploading but failed(think there might be a technical problem at this time, because I followed same procedure when I posted pics of Skull Creek from Building 31 in another thread)?Hmm...

Boathouse has tons of games for kids. A big outdoor bar and a beer garden area so the wait can fly by fwiw. Also Chart House is very good and right between hudsons and boat house. Your landrys select card (if you have one from Trex, rainforest cafe at Disney) also works at Chart house in Hilton head so you can use your credit or earn points towards landrys.

I also recommend the new Poseidon restaurant located behind the new Kroger overlooking the new waterfront park. It is the same owners of the boat house and probably a little bit better food but the view is now quite as good.

Speaking of HHI restaurants, Serg Restaurant Group has several restaurants on the island...some take priority seating reservations, others do not. Skullcreek does not have priority seating(asked the Manager at another Serg restaurant why some do and some don't and he responded that Skullcreek "doesn't have to because of the demand for the view". We tried a lot of the Serg group restaurants and they were all VERY GOOD! You may want to look up The Black Marlin. .outside seating is very nice with some nice views.. very nice setting outdoor music too, great seafood. One Hot Mamas(BEST BEST wings and DELICIOUS fall off the bone ribs, try terriaki wings LARGE PORTION OF RIBS, even half rack)(no priority), Marleys Island Grille(good seafood), Giuseppis(biking to Disney HHI, right by Kroger, VERY GOOD pizza..(asked for well done and thinner crust), Frankie Bones(priority), good Italian, Wise Guys(takes reservation...had reservation for "early bird...25% off, but never made it since we had to be there for 5:30(last early bird seating)..wanted to enjoy every last bit of last beach day...next time, supposedly GREAT STEAKS! ENJOY HHI and the food..SUCH great choices of restaurants!:thumbsup2:Pinkbounc

Just have to second One Hot Mama's...I think this was probably our favorite meal on the island next to Skull Creek... Strawberry jalapeno wings were the bomb!!

We had the Sea Shack on our 1 trip to HHI. Our kids loved the hermit crab races and "gambling" on their crabs.. lol Would like to check out the boathouse next time we make it there.
