Ship crowds on Port Days--recent Fantasy report.

I did the Fantasy Western Caribbean cruise this past summer. I'm not surprised to see you say the ship was the most crowded in Falmouth. The ship docks and it seemed like all of the shopping was right there. So, people probably went down to shop then came right back on. I did a half day at Castaway Cay. When I got back to the ship around 1, I walked on the Aquaduck for about 6 times. I think I will always do that if I want to ride the Aquaduck since I usually don't go on it any other day.

If I'm going to pay Disney's prices, I'm staying on the ship and getting my money's worth. If I just want to go do an excursion, I can find someone else to take me there who's more reasonably priced.

FWIW, I've done two excursions in my life, both in Alaska back in May/June. While both were fine, and we enjoyed ourselves, I don't really care if I do another one ever again. I don't like being in big groups plunked on a bus and I don't like being bound to a schedule. I'm much more of a freestyler when it comes to exploring.

You could do the excursions on your own like we did in Alaska

Meh. I'm still piled into a car or bus that I'm not driving, with strangers, being herded from place to place. Not my idea of a good time.

I could not imagine NOT getting off the ship anywhere even just for a while. The pools (esp. kids' pools) on DCL are awful! I'd rather take my daughter to the beach to enjoy and IMO there is always something to see/do even if you've been to the same place before.

We don't get off the boat in St. Thomas or Sint Maarten. We only get off the boat in CC for about an hour unless we have a cabana. I don't expect to go ashore on Grand Cayman in a few weeks and I'll only go ashore for a little while in Falmouth. I'm only going ashore in Cozumel to go to Cervezaria Internacionale and the grocery store across the street from it. I cruise on the Fantasy because I love the Fantasy and its crew. I cruise because I'm staying in a great big floating resort. When I go to bed at night and wake up the next morning my resort has moved magically to a new place with new scenery. I've said it several times and I'll say it again: If the boat went to sea and did circles in the ocean for 7 days and then returned to port I'd be just fine with that.
That's illegal.

That's illegal.

I'm well aware of the ridiculous laws regarding cruises to nowhere, but thanks for taking an entire paragraph and blanket stating that the descriptions provided in the entire paragraph are illegal instead of snipping the irrelevant parts to clarify for those who might not know what in the world you are talking about.

Doesn't change the fact that I'd be perfectly happy with a cruise to nowhere, regardless of how stupid our legislature is.

Sounds like you are a criminal.

(I kept only the relevant portion of the text that time [Except, not the portion relevant to this parenthetical]. You are welcome.)

How is it criminal to be happy if the ship does circles and comes back to port? It wouldn't be illegal for me to be on the boat that does it. It would be illegal for the boat to do it, and the law is ridiculous.

I'd be perfectly happy if the speed limit didn't exist on our interstates. That's doesn't make me a criminal, unless you're the thought police.

Technically, you are encouraging Disney to commit the violation. That makes you an accomplice.

In any event, relax. I'm just kidding with you. Agree, wish the law would change.

Hey guys, lets remember to play nice here. Sometimes implied humor is lost in the written word, which causes people to be offended.
Thanks for your cooperation! :thumbsup2
