can you use it to pay for all your tips at the end of the cruise or do you pay for your off board excursens or spend it in the shops on the ship or can you apply it to your next cruise deposit ;)

I'm planning on using mine for either spa treatments or shore excursions. I'm sure it could be used for tips though too.

Since we charged very little on our last cruise, we mainly used the onboard credit towards our tips.

thank you, we are beach lovers and i dont think we will be going on any excursions and we will be bring our own beer/wine :teeth:

We used ours to try out spa options (and decided none were worth spending our own money the next time around - except maybe that foot massage...).

Having never cruised before, I wasn't sure what we'd use ours for. We booked our excursion ourselves before the cruise and we brought our own bottled water and beer. So, where did our 300.00 in shipboard credit go? It went toward the 1400 dollars we wound up charging during our week. The tips we charged for a family of five amounted to 400.00, three value packs of bingo cars, souvenirs for us and gifts for people back home, internet for the week (89.00) , two meals at Palos with tips and one bottle of wine), laundering dh's shirts, a massage at the spa, Shutters, and that's about all I can remember.

Ditto all that! :earsgirl:

:scared1: :scratchin
OMG, i wonder if i can downgrade to the engine room, do they have cots down there ;)
i was not thinking it may cost me that much extra after putting out all this money for the new years magic cruise  (i knew about the cost of tipping and a few $$ for palos and was going to be frugal after that :rotfl: )
i better give up sleeping and get a third job :teeth:

LOL Not on a Disney cruise, but dh and i went on a cruise in March and OMG our account was at almost $2000 by the time we got off. Must have been all those gifts for the kids becuase we felt guilty about leaving them. LOL when we take them with us, our account has never gone over $1000.

It was worth every penny...except the massage, but who knew I'd get a bony-fingered amateur. Oh, I forgot we also had my daughter and my hair braided, I bought a book to read at the pool, we had a couple drinks the first night and one at bingo and dh attended two beer tastings.

I didn't pay attention to how long you have before your cruise, but if you have the time, sock away some money each week and have it applied to your onboard account ahead of time. I hope more people respond to this thread so you can get a better idea of what you might spend onboard.

Yep, we did that too! Ours was used to bring back all the souveniers that we got for our parents, sis and b-i-l, and neces and nephews. Also all the tropical drinks that we had onboard and on CC, and playing bingo.
It's very nice to have the KTTW card to do all this, but it can add up very fast! We tried to keep a check on ours so that it didn't get out of hand by the end of the trip. We were only on the 3-night cruise, so I can't imagine what the 7-night would be like! :scared1: :faint:

It sounds like a good plan to put money in the shipboard acct. ahead of time. How do you go about doing that?
Also, we don't HAVE to use the KTTW card, if we want to use cash right?

Onboard you can ONLY use your KTTWK BUT!, what we did was use the card then take the cash or TC right down and pay off what we had just "charged". :goodvibes We did not want to put anything on our CC. Still can not really figure it out. :confused3 Had to use the card but then you could pay cash to pay if off??? When in Rome do as the Roman's do. Maybe it is so they can average what people spend?

We use our shipboard credit for memories. Photos, pins, and our scrapbook. I love looking back at the wonderful time we have had on past cruises as we plan for our future ones.

Yep, and the 10 day was a killer! :sad2:

There are so many extras that add up quickly....The tips, Palos extra charge; spa appointments, drinks - you've got to try a few of the specailty ones, bingo cards, the arcade, photos at Shutters, souvies from the gift shop.
