Shield

I watched and will watch it again next week. My dd really enjoyed it.

We watched and really liked it. Will probably watch it again tomorrow. I think I'm really going to enjoy this. :)

It looks like it could be pretty good. I really enjoyed seeing Gunn and Shepard Book. It's always nice to see Joss take care of his crew.

I think this is the first show I've watched on a regular TV network in over 10 years. I've always DVDed or streamed the series I've wanted to watch. I wait until they're done and then watch them all in a row. For this one I think I'm going to try to keep up on a weekly basis even if the commercials are killing me.

I know. We joke with the kids after watching other stuff, "Oh no, now we have to wait a week to find out what happens." Then we laugh and put on the next episode. This is so unnatural to us. ;)

And I think the only commercials my kids have ever seen have been during sports.

We watched it, and we'll be back next week. It's fun seeing the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agency -- the ones with no super powers.

We enjoyed it & will be watching again next week!

Older DS said, "It's kinda a little bit comical, isn't it?"

And I want to know what happened to Coulson & why is Tahiti magical?

I meant to watch but missed it!
For those who watched, would you say it was similar to The Avengers in level of violence (lots, but not gory or twistedly disturbing), sex (just some banter), and language (a few mild words)? Or was it more adult than that? My tweens enjoyed The Avengers and hope to watch SHIELD.

It was actually quite low key on it's content IMO. The violence wasn't too graphic (only one scene and you don't see the act, it's just implied what happens), I can't recall too many sex or language violations. I'd say it's ok for tweens. Definitely looking forward to this series.

IMO, it was very similar to "The Avengers" in its audience suitability - maybe even a bit more low-key.

I remember one fight scene at the beginning where the agent was in Paris, & I commented in a joking manner, "That had to hurt." During that same scene, either my DD or older DS winced a couple of times & said, "Ow!"

But there weren't any gory or "disturbing" scenes. No sex either, & I only recall a couple of words. (And they were mild.)

An explosion or two, some guns, a couple of threats, one agent was thrown into a wall, one agent was kidnapped, a guy kinda had a "hulkish" sort of temper... plus a couple of witty lines & some fun banter. All very "Avenger-ish" on a more limited budget w/ some new faces.

You have to remember - it comes on at 8:00 pm on a network channel, so it's not going to be as gritty as the 10:00 pm shows or a cable show.

My 2 older kids enjoyed it - they're 13 & 12. They loved "Avengers" & also liked "SHIELD."

I didn't love it-love it, but I liked it.

I thought it was quite a bit tamer than The Avengers. There was some violence but not constant and it was milder than the film. A good deal of Joss Whedon humor too.

I watched too. Liked it and think it has good potential. Good cast. Looking forward to more.
