So how many of you are keeping your upcoming Disney vacation a secret from your kids or other family members? We are going during free dining, the kids have no idea! We are heading to DL soon, so anytime I say anything they think I am talking about that. I have no intentions of telling them either. :lmao:

Have a wonderful adventure! :wizard: We surprised my kids, their spouses and our grandkids last year with an all-expense-paid trip to Disney. DH and I went, too, of course! We used Fortune cookies to announce the surprise. :upsidedow Do let us know how you are planning to announce your surprise! :goodvibes

I will be doing my first surprize trip this May. DH is flying out for his conference on Sat. and I will be driving the boys on Sunday or Monday. My 3 yr old's favorite saying right now is "I have a good idea!"

So the morning we are going to leave, I am going to say" I have a good idea - let's go to Disney World" I am so excited about the surprize - almost more than the trip LOL!

I agree! Keeping & announcing the surprise is almost as exciting as the trip itself! :upsidedow :upsidedow

Ours know about a February trip we take annually now (camping). They do not know about the end of August/September trip :thumbsup2 . The fun part is asking them opinions on things and just having them think we're talking about February.

Our plan is to get them in the vehicle in the a.m. when we leave and tell them Daddy has to pick something up for the business. I think somewhere mid-Indiana I'll hand them pre-packed bags with assorted Disney items. :wizard:

They will be excited as this is the first time we will be staying in a hotel rather than Fort Wilderness (which we love love love)....different is often very exciting! :dance3:

We will be keeping it a secret. More so because ds would drive me bananas. But also because it'll be fun.

Our kids know about WDW- but for us, it's costing an arm and a leg and I expect good grades and good behavior from my kids in order to go on the trip (and I mean it- bad grades would mean they'll stay with Grandma!).

Otherwise, we HAVE actually surprised the kids one year with a trip to DisneyLand ON CHRISTMAS DAY WITH my Mom and Dad and sisters AND Grandma going WITH us! Now that was a fun surprise!!! (Santa paid for the trip- dang elf, he must have a lot more money then ME!)

Well my daughter is two, so she's surprised when it's a weekend and she's not going to school. And then add to it that we live next door, I don't get to keep the secret very often. Usually it's a weekend trip ... but still, not anything she's never done before.

However, and I'm thrilled about this, in TWO years we're going to Disneyland. I'm giddy with preplanning jitters. "Oh my gosh, I get to be a secret keeper!!"

Even if I told Julie that we were going to Disneyland ... she wouldn't know the difference and certainly wouldn't remember it in two years, but gosh I will. LOL.

That is kinda funny.

I've probably been to Disney World more than 30 times, and everytime I get giddy before hand. There's something about going where Walt started it all just has me thrilled! Oh, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, well, we won't even go there. Just hoping they don't take it out, or have it down for repair in two years, lol.

Not to mention on how I'd love to go visit the parks overseas ... wow ... Well, we won't go there. I'd die of giddiness.

Hope you have a great trip down here to visit the mouse!

I've read about your "fortune cookie" surprise I thought that was such an awesome way to surprise your family....and so nice of you to treat everyone.

We are going in Jan. 2008, but I haven't told DD7 yet. I don't think that I will wait until the morning of the trip, but I'll try to wait until Thanksgiving or Christmas. Try!

We went this past January (her first trip), and DD knew about it from the March before. I think that it was just too far away and she didn't think that it would ever happen. However, I did enjoy discussing things with her, watching DVDs and talking about what it would be like. Now that she's been, we can watch things and talk about it. I just enjoyed the planning part with her. With that, I don't know if I will wait until Christmas.

Hope you can keep the secret. Last year we surprised our:dance3: We didn't tell them until we drove on property. Our oldest was pretty sure where we were going but the younger two were clueless. We had so much fun staying up late planning, making shirts and packing secretly. Hope you have a wonderful time:banana: :cool1:

Thanks. I kept the secret from them 2 years ago I told them we were going to the beach, my oldest knew and was in on the secret with me, the younger 2 didn't, my daughter started to pick up when we landed in Orlando, but I told her we were going to Tampa, instead of Ocean City. My youngest was so surprised when he saw the Disney World sign. I am sort of surprising my parents too, I am paying for their trip because of everything they have done for me and the kids, but I changed our resort from AS Sports to POFQ. I can't wait.

I am doing my first ever surprise trip for my ds11 and dd8. I even plan on making them go to school on the friday we are leaving and picking them up only 1 hour after they got there, LOL! I don't want them to any clue that something is going on! We will pick them up and head to the airport. They will find out on the way to the airport though, as they will have a small backpack with stuff in there that will be plenty of clues as to where we are going. I think it will be so fun, but in the mean time, I am going crazy having to keep this to myself!

We are surprising the kids and leaving this Saturday...I can barely contain myself!! :donald: :dumbo: :tigger: :mickeyjum

DH has meetings down in Orlando on Wednesday so we decided to take the whole week and make a vacation out of it. I thought that dd7 would've overheard or overseen something, but so far none of them have a clue.

We plan on just putting them in the car on Saturday and just telling them we are going out for a while and driving to the airport. I think they will figure it out when we get to the gate and see the Orlando sign, but until then it will be a big secret!

I cannot wait...I am the worst secret-keeper so this is really hard for me. I have told the 23 month old, though...my confidant!

My kids have no clue that we've booked a week during free DDP. DH and I have decided to surprise them. Partly because we don't want them to obsess about it over the next 4 months and partly because it'll just be so much fun to surprise them. This is going to be our "dream trip" as we booked the Contemporary. I've always wanted to stay there and DS's favorite ride from when we last went was the monorail. HE is going to freak when we go to check in and the monorail is running through our hotel!

WOW! Have a great time, that is so neat. Everyone else good luck with your surprise trips too. I keep forgetting some days that my kids dont' know and almost say something, then I switch to DL really quick before I slip and tell them. :rolleyes1

I am surprising my kids with a trip in June. I don't plan to tell them until they wake up for school that morning. Once they are in the car on the way to the airport I will give them each a bag filled with stuff that will make it really sink in!! :cool1:
