Shhhhh...Can you keep a secret? A New Year's PTR

So the title of this post says it all - I need to trick my sisters.

So the weather is really variable in January and it's important to dress in layers, which in my family means packing a mix of spring, summer, fall, and winter clothing. So as you know, we are surprising my sisters with a trip to Disney at Christmas, leaving on January 1st. What my mom and I are worried is that my sisters will only bring home sweaters and winter clothes for spring break and not pack their bathing suits, tank tops, etc. come winter break. Now this is a problem because once the dorms close for winter break, you can't get back in.

So...how do we trick my sisters into bringing home their summer clothes for winter break? :confused3

So as you know we are using the DDP. Well, we decided to add a character breakfast because they are soooo much fun, and because the Sci-fi isn't really a great value on the dining plan. So, we are keeping our Sci-fi reservation as an OOP meal, but adding breakfast at the Crystal Palace on our MK day. Should be fun.

By the way, still looking for ideas on how to trick my sisters (see previous post).

Lie, lie lie. Make up a story about how your entire family is going to spend the Christmas week volunteering at this new indoor water park in your area while they host Christmas events for needy children. When your sisters come home with all their summer clothes & bathing suites for the hot humid indoor volunteering they'll be forced to do, you & your parents act really mad & keep bringing up the no good loser who stole all the donation money & forced the program to close down.

:lmao: That made me laugh. Unfortunately they would never fall for that, mostly because there isn't an indoor water park within 100 miles from where we live.

I was talking with my mom and I think come Thanksgiving she's going to give each of them a suitcase and say something along the lines of clearing room in the closets for the new clothes coming on Christmas. And if that doesn't work, well we'll just have to break into the college before we leave. ;)

Im joining in! I had an idea that you could tell your sisters that you were going to an indoor pool at like the YMCA or something but it may be too late for that. However if temps stay like they have been in FL you would not want to be swimming and would definately want warm clothes. (30 degrees I would want a coat). Also I wanted to tell you that I love SS, I stayed there on my Disneymoon. Its a beautiful resort.
How are you going to surprise them on Christmas?

:welcome:

And thanks for joining in!

Well right now we're just hoping they bring home their summer clothes to clear room in their closets, though as you mentioned the temps might be soooooo cold that swimming won't be an option. :cold:

As far as surprising them goes my mom and I just decided on this. At first we were going to order custom t-shirts for everyone that had either snow white or one of the seven dwarves on the front (since there are 8 in our party). The back was going to have "heigh-ho heigh-ho, to disneyworld we go!" They were going to open these on Christmas morning. However, they would have cost almost $200 and we'd just rather put the money towards something else. So instead, my mom's wrapping a huge box and putting ballons inside so when they open it they fly out and it say something "surprise we're going to Disney!". I know its not the most creative option, but it make the most sense (especially economically) for a bunch of smart 20 year olds. :lmao:

I'm glad to hear SS is great. I'm really looking forward to staying there.
