I would really appreciate any advice here. I am planning to suprise my wife with a vow renewal this February (10th anniversary) and am in the planning process filling out the forams sent by Disney regarding cake flavor, music choices, etc. Because we will have very few guests, I don't think a traditional procession, recession, etc. is particularly appropriate and would rather some thing more spontaneous and informal. Does anyone have any experience with this? What music, etc? I can always depend on you all for great advice.

Thanks a million!

Chris

since this is a vow renewal, maybe play "your song" or the first song you played at your original reception for the ceremony music. Choose a favorite music group/musician it can be as simple as the sounds of the wind or reggae in the caribbean. best of luck with your plans, that is very sweet & romantic of you to perform this special renewal of your love, congrats!

I'd be happy to give you lots of ideas and suggestions, but can you narrow it down a little? Are you thinking of using the Wedding Pavilion or Sunset Point or another location? You said you didn't want something too formal - what about a location like Sunset Point or the beach at the GF or elsewhere? Perhaps you and your wife could walk in together. Do you want to have any music? What about a strolling violinist or a guitar player?
As for flowers, perhaps they can recreate the bouquet your wife carried for your wedding (if you had flowers then). That's the kind of thoughtful gesture that I know I would really appreciate from my husband.
Are you organizing a dinner or other event after the renewal? How large is your group?

Thanks. We have a small group of family members (eight) who we be on the cruise with us. The music choices include Disney songs and the more traditional wedding music. I think my wife would like a simple ceremony without a lot formality. The ceremony is conducted onboard by a ship's officer. A cake is provided and a small reception. I have already selected the flowers, cake flavor, etc. but am still not comfortable with the usual mechanics of the seremony since it is a suprise. Right know I'm thinking of having my wife meet me at the ceremony - suprise! Rather than a typical procession, I am thinking of just walking up to the officient with my wife. Should we go with traditional music, personal music, or Disney ?

Thanks!

I like your idea of walking 'down the aisle' with your wife. As for music - that's really a personal preference. For our Disney wedding, we used all traditional music, no Disney music at all, but other couples go all Disney. You know your wife best, so only you will know what she would enjoy. But it might be fun to walk into the ceremony to the song you used as your first dance at your wedding. Just an idea.

I'm new to the acronyms and didn't realize you would be on the cruise.
I think it might be nice if you did something like had your wife get dressed up and wait for you in the state room. You could come and get her and escort her to the ceremony where everyone will be waiting!!
Try to use the song you danced to at your first wedding, otherwise something from Disney would be perfect!

Make sure you let your concierge know if you want it to be a surprise!!! They will leave messages and little food trays or gifts in your room.

I have heard a lot of people use "Groovey Kind of Love" for their processional. I got married on teh cruise in Oct and used all the suggested songs.

I am planning my secret vow renewal cruise for April of 06. 5 Years for us!!! I am VERY excited and we are total Disney People. I do have a question though, do you HAVE to have guests? I was going to take DH on the cruise alone...Good Luck and Fill us in When you come back...Stacy

I'm another vow renewal surpriser for next august.
I'm leaning towards all Disney songs as we had traditional music at our wedding. I'm also planning on walking down the aisle with my wife and maybe with our 3 children also.

This is so sweet! The first thing that popped in my mind when I was reading this was the Disney Song "So This Is Love". I think that would be a cool processional. I would want to stroll down the aisle with my husband.
