I could not find a Wendy costume. Well, I lie....I could but there were problems with the 2 I found. The first one I found on a costume website was for "sexy" Wendy. UH.....no. Then, I did find a real Wendy costume on Etsy. They wanted $185!! I think not! Thankfully, my best friend is wonderful & she sews a lot so she is making my Wendy dress for me. She found a pattern that had the basic silhouette of the dress that she was able to use as a basis. She's still working on it & I can't wait to see it all finished!
Amanda, we're still working on the white rabbit - I think he's going to ignore us until late September! Or the boys said I should just order something and pack it!
I can absolutely relate on the costume front - it was the same for Alice. And I looked on etsy, too - saw a costume for $500! Crazy! Great plan for a custom made Wendy dress - hope you post a preview photo when it's finished and before
MNSSHP!
My problem with ADRs is that I want to eat at mostly EPCOT restaurants, and then I also like to eat CS so unless I do nothing but eat the entire trip, something just has to get cut!
This is exactly why we end up extending our stays - 5 people, 5 ADR priority lists, at least two ADRs per day - we can't fit them all in!
Your costume is a great idea! I want to be princess Leia for the Halloween party this year, but all the ones I see are ummm ... not appropriate for WDW, or frumpy drape type costumes. What's a girl to do? Hmmmm perhaps I can find someone to make me one too! My mom sews.....

.
That's my last resort if the Alice costume I'm ordering doesn't work out. My mom sews too, and she's the one who suggested the family theme in the first place! And how do they turn Leia, Wendy and Alice into costumes that aren't appropriate to wear in front of your kids? There must be a market for them, I guess - it's just not us!
Pixar mom

HI!

I miss you again by a few days....Darn!

I haven't been to MNSSHP before, only pirates and princess.....we enjoyed that night, so I'm really looking forward to this one! I am taking advice to eat QS early the night of, so we don't waste party time on eating and QS eatery crowds

hope you enjoy the party if you decide to go
Hope you find a cute shirt! That was my original plan and it was actually a little hard to let it go. I'll be watching for your report, since you'll return just as we're leaving!
Heather, LOVE that photo! Reminds me of my favorite Poly room in Samoa. I was so excited about Poly CL that my only request was going to be 3rd floor, since I wasn't going to have to worry about a longhouse. But now that Poly CL is closed for our stay, I'm thinking about requests again. Think it would be pretty crazy if I requested 3rd floor Samoa facing volcano pool. Can't imagine we would be that lucky twice!
Oh, I so get what you mean! Over the years it I've often tried to explain this to friends who have not stayed deluxe - especially in an MK or EPCOT resort. We love the parks too, but when staying at a lovely resort it changes the trip (in a positive way) and some days it is hard to leave the resort for a park. I know not all will not understand, but I'd rather visit less often and be able to stay deluxe. It is the best R&R anywhere for me.
You are a woman after my own heart! Rides? There are rides at Disney? I thought it was a restaurant destination.......
It is!
Minnie and Basket, we've done a few non-parks stays on the way to the airport from my parents' condo and I LOVE those.

Just spend time at the resort, swim, shop, walk around the Boardwalk, and make lots of non-park ADRs - wonderful! We spent a couple days at AKL last year during a non-parks stay, too.
And
basket, I think DIY pirates are a great back-up plan. I bet it would be pretty easy, and a lot of fun. Our boys have done the Knight Package at BBB, and when we booked a last minute trip and couldn't get in, we did a DIY Knights thing. Honestly, it didn't turn out the best - I couldn't make the Mickey head in the back of their hair like the FGIT - but we had SO much fun trying!
We did Oct. 31...it was great!!! But, alas it was 2003 I think. Sold out...not crowded, free chocolate. Great parades, fireworks, characters, short lines...only problem. DS was asleep in the stroller by 915pm and a little rain...so our night was cut short.
Pas, that must have been amazing ON Halloween! And some of the candy is chocolate? Yay! I have a feeling our tweedle dum is going to fall asleep before midnight. But carrying him back to CR could be tough because his costume has a big hoop around the tummy!
Sorry about the conversation with your husband last night - I get it.
Missoutandabout, fun costumes!!!! Love those masks, and Jessie is adorable!
Dani, that's crazy and yuck! Feel better!
I have a "situation". I'm finalizing my touring plan and I have Sanaa scheduled for Friday at 6:50 (I've heard so many good things about Sanaa). We will be at AK that morning and MK that night for EMH's. Friday is the night we want to stay at MK until they throw us out so we thought about going to AK in the morning, chilling at the resort int he afternoon and then going over to MK in time for Wishes and EMH. We wanted to have dinner right before we went to MK but that means going to AK int he morning, then back to YC, then BACK to Kidani, then MK. Is that CRAZY? My other option is to switch Sanaa to Thursday when we plan to go to DHS in the morning and just hanging out at the YC thurs evening. I have Capt's Grill scheduled that evening since we will be at the resort BUT, we can take our time getting to Kidani and getting back to YC on an evening that we don't have a park scheduled. We may miss the movie on the beach though. We were going to walk on the boardwalk thursday evening. HELP me because I'm thinking that if we stayed at Kidani, it would be easier......just saying....
Step, I love Sanaa! Glad you're keeping it, and we'd probably do all the running around in one day and then just hang out at YC entirely on Thursday with an ADR at the resort/movie/boardwalk walk. If you already have AK, back to YC and MK, I'd consider it just one more stop along the way. But we do a fair amount of running around generally, so that might not be the best plan for everyone. Good luck with your plan!
Mousemommy, thanks for the update! So happy you're loving WL - can't wait to see photos!
