She's still too short

I am so bummed. My dd3 is still to short for Soarin. I just measured her with her tallest shoes and she is with in 1/2 inch of 40 inches. We just had a growth spurt and I was really hoping.

Ahh I'm sorry to hear about that! I wish the height requirement for this ride wasn't so tall (although I understand why it is). I have a 2-1/2 yr old that would love it.

Our DD 3 is also a 1/2 inch too short. DH keeps measuring her and hoping she'll grow by March 3rd! I can sympathize.

This is a VERY sensitive topic and I'm ready to be burned alive by the flame police.... but- we got my daughter those god-awful platform shoes at Payless and she put them on outside of the Land pavilion... and changed back to sneakers after enjoying Soarin'!
Have Fun! Good Luck!

we were in disney in nov, and unless they changed the height requirement for soarin, there is none, I saw people with infants on it. There is a strap that goes between the baby`s legs to strap them in so they dont slip out. So no worries there. It is such an awesome ride, we did it 3 times in a row the first nite of our trip................and then went back for 2 more times different days.
Make sure you get fast passes for that as soon as you get into Epcot! Very popular ride!

There is definitely a height requirement for Soarin. My DD was measured at least twice in December.

You might want to think of it as a blessing. My DD4 kept saying for weeks leading up to our trip how much she wanted to ride Splash Mountain, and other thrill rides. We went to Epcot before MK and took her on Soarin and TT. She hated them. In fact, she left TT in tears. I got many "Bad Parent" looks. Just because they are tall enough, it doesn't mean they are ready...even if they think they are.

i can understand why they have height requirements for a lot of rides, but if soarin has the strap in between the legs.. i don't know why it's so tall.

Soarin is one of the rides that you really should respect the height restriction on. When you rise and tip forward, as an adult or older child you can hold on. Smaller children panic first and don't hold on. Does anyone remember the shoes dangling above them on Soarin? Wait out the 1/2" growth, the safety far outweighs the risk!

You are right...we took our just turned 4 year old on ToT in October. He won't be riding again any time soon. He didn't cry or anything, he just said "MOMMY, I DON'T WANT TO GO ON THAT AGAIN." Funny, I just asked him right now if he wants to go on ToT and he said 'NO, NEVER!!!" HAHA... :rotfl2:

Just as an FYI I on our December trip I twice saw CM's ask children with obviously high shoes to remove them before measuring. Both girls, one on RnRc (48" min) and the other on Mission Space (40" min). The first one had on enourmous flip flops and the second girl wore very thick soled platform type sneakers.

The CM's also asked my nephew to remove his hat every time he got measured. He was about 42" and got double checked at all the 40" rides. It was an issue because he LOVES his hat and would sleep in it if he could. My SIL finally just gave him a choice, take the hat off to get measured or don't ride :) FWIW he was tall enough just didn't like taking off his hat.

Maybe she will make it the 1/2" otherwise use rider switch (babyswap) and encourage her to eat her veggies!!

Have fun
