MONDAY, Feb. 23! "Front Row & Center"

DEAR LORD!!!! IT HAS STOPPED!!! HEY JUDE HAS FINALLY STOPPED!!!!!

Today was Animal Kingdom day. I know a lot of folks aren't crazy about it but I LOVE AK. I love animals in general so AK is probably my favorite park. As we were getting ready, we saw that it was supposed to rain pretty bad for the next few days L . This worries me a bit,as Tuesday was supposed to be our MGM/Fantasmic day. Uh - Oh…

We head to AK. We arrive when it opens and get our FP for the safari. While waiting we walked the gorilla trail. WOW. I have never seen so many animals out and about. I got some gorgeous pictures of the gorillas and their habitats. I am usually pretty critical of zoos, but I truly think Disney did a wonderful job. The gorillas have so much much space & such a nice habitat. We also saw lots of meerkats. I so want a meerkat! They are the cutest things. Maybe because they remind me of my ferrets (may they rest in peace). Saw a lot of other interesting creatures, were in awe of the colorful birds and fish. I have been on this trail many times and really never seen so many critters. Wow. Just wow. J

We head to our safari and again, more animals were out than I have ever seen before. Early morning is definitely the best time to do this! I think my favorite may have been the hippos. They are so cute! And we saw a baby elephant! Awwww. As our safari comes to an end we opt to go over to Rafiki's Planet watch for a while. I want to pet the goats and see the llamas. Whenever I see llamas , I think of the Emperors New Groove. They need to make more movies about llamas…but I digress…

As we are leaving RPW, I hear a voice from above the trees near the building. It is mocking me! We still don't know where the voice was coming from! I though maybe a talking trash can? But no! It's still a mystery to this day…kind of like "Hey Jude".

We head over to Dinoland and get some fast food. It's okay. I know they can't have straws because they can't risk idiots throwing their straws on the ground and animals eating them, but I can't enjoy a cold drink without a straw. My teeth are very sensitive to cold and my drink had tons of ice, because I forgot to ask for no ice. Oh well. Then we go get a FP for Dinosaur and while we're waiting (long enough after eating!) we go on Primeval Whirl with no wait. Fun! We go on Dinosaur and Chris deems it one of his favorite rides. We would hit it 2 more times by the end of the day.

We go over to Asia. At this point we have pretty much missed all of the shows we wanted to see. I guess we will just have to come back! We walk through the bats and tigers. We see a baby bat eating a melon. I love bats. Bats are amongst my favorite animals. They are just so misunderstood and it makes me happy to see many people interested in the ones here. I love how there is no glass seperating you from them. The tigers were coming right up to the glass too. They were just gorgeous. We had opted to skip Kali. We just do not like getting wet unless it's unbearably hot out, which it was not.

We go on Dinosaur one last time and make our way towards the front. We had originally planned on going back to MK after AK but given the bad weather forecast, decide instead to go to MGM and catch Fantasmic & Indy Jones Stunt show which I suspect will be rained out tomorrow.

We drive over to MGM and get close to the front row for IJSS. It's great! We also look around the IJ shop. Then, we had a bit of time before Fantasmic so we catch the Muppets. We are both big fans of the Muppets. I love the two old guys who heckle! J Then , we head for Fantasmic.

WOW!!! As we enter the seating area, 1.5 hours early, we see that the VERY FRONT ROW in the VERY CENTER is open because a guy selling stuff from one of those carts is there semi-blocking the 4 seater bench. We decide to ask. When we are told we can sit there, I don't think I have ever been so excited. The last few times I have seen this show, I have been WAY in the back. The guy warns us we might get a little water sprayed on us, but not soaked or anything. So we wait. The wait is actually fun, as we are entertained by two ducks in the lagoon & it's a nice resting time. Then the show begins. I can't belive how amazing it is because I have never seen it up close like this. From now on, I will always get to the seating area early and try for these seats or ones close to them!

Then we head downtown for our first dinner at Planet Hollywood. Chris is thrilled that we get the seat close to Evil Ash from Evil Dead. I wonder what non-Bruce Campbell fans think when they get sat there… :teeth: Our meal was tasty and the atmosphere was fun.

Wow….what a day! We are exhausted and head back to the condo to rest up for another, very, very , VERY rainy day…
