Sherberth Road entrance

Hi all,
We will be staying off-site in a villa near route 192. I'm looking at a map off all of WDW from a previous trip and it seems Sherberth Road looks like easy access to WDW, especially AK. Just curious, is this a marked WDW entrance or just a little short-cut. Would you recommend taking it or am I better off taking 192 all the way to World Drive? Any advice appreciated! Thanks

Sherberth Road is a good way to enter WDW, but it's not very well marked. The entrance to DAK requires making an unmarked U-Turn just past the toll plaza.

actually Tyler they have installed a sign there now. just watch out on Sherbeth road the speedlimit is 35 MPH and the Ocesola county sherrifs are making that road a home.

Why Stop heading thisaway when I could Go thataway?

I have used Sherberth Rd. and my present opinion is that it does not save time over World Drive if you are going to somewhere other than Animal Kingdom. Sherberth curves to the left as it nears Osceola and the layout is like a half mile doubleback over there. It seems as if, as you approach the signalized Sherberth intersection (just past the big Shoney's Buffet sign on the right) coming eastbound on 192 , left onto Sherberth or straight on 192 towards World Drive the better bet is the one that gets a green light or arrow first.

Kate-n-Sam, what road do you take to your villa off 192? That makes a difference in directions as to taking Sherberth or going on to World Drive.

Sherbeth Road is a Godsend if you are stuck in traffic on 192. I had gone out to the Publix on Orange Lake Blvd., and traffic going to WDW was literally backed up from beyond there all the way to WDW. I hopped over to Sherbeth and was there in a matter of minutes. Doesn't look like many people know about it.

We will be at Windsor Plams, I believe it's off of Formosa? The corner where Splendid China is/was.
Sorry, I don't have the exact details on how to get there handy....

By the looks of the map and your replies, it seems that for AK take it and if there is bunches of traffic, take it. Otherwise World Drive should be quicker

I actually take Blacklake Road to Sherbeth Road every day on my way to work and it saves anywhere from 2 mins to 20 mins depending on traffic on 192. however between 4pm to 6pm this is a road to avoid as it is very busy and you get backed up at the light.

2nd the observation on the traffic backup during rush hour - the light is not timed to clear rush hour traffic well and I saw dozens of cars backed up at the lights waiting for signals

Blake Lake is what I take too. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's by the Chik Filet. It ends at Sherbeth, so take it to the end and make a left and keep driving till you see the Mouse.

if you are staying at a villa off Formosa BLVD you are just as well taking 192 to Sherbeth Road. rather then backtrack to Blacklake Road.
