Our family (9 of us) rented 2, 2 bedroom suites there 12/20-1/2. While this is certainly a nice property it is not convenient for those doing Disney unless you love driving thru the wicked traffic.
Also, because one of us is a "Starwood Preferred" guest we took the tour so she could get the 8,000 points. We did this knowing full well we would NOT be suckered in to buy a timeshare. The representative we had lacked any sense of humor and was frankly rude. We had to fight for the "free" points and did not get the free cheesy gifts - no loss to us but Sheraton's credibility has been tarnished by there aggressive and rude behavior.
Finally, the worst part was the fact that this huge complex did not have a full service restaurant - unlike almost all the Disney properties where you have many choices for dining. As a result we had to get into the full-body contact traffic in Orlando to search out a restaurant.
All in all being there sure beat coming home to a 12" snow storm.

I would disagree about it not being convenient to Disney. It took us 15 minutes max to get there and there was also the benefit of it being close to Seaworld and not too far from Universal. You definitely need a car though.

I would stay here again with no hesitation.

I agree.....the commute is longer than the main Vistana resort (to WDW), but I think the fact that the OP went during probably the busiest time of the year to vacation in WDW/Orlando had a major impact on their perception of traffic time. I envision 12/20--1/2 would be a nightmare. I would only stay on WDW property during that week if I planned on vacationing during that week at all. Christmas/New Years is probably THE busiest time of the year for the wdw parks.
Also, I agree with the OP about the ruthless nature of the sales sharks at Vistana. We had a bad experience with them as well (at the main Vistana) in 2000. We knew we wanted more timeshare time too. The sales guy was so rude......wouldn't let us go after the agreed upon 90 min talk.....had to really push for our whopping $50 too. We RAN to DVC and bought our extra time there. Never been happier. Sorry you had to experience this rsoxrule.....but glad you missed out on the white stuff !!! :cool1:
