Sheraton Vistana vs On Site hotel?

We are trying to plan a very last minute trip here.

We have been to MK once and stayed at the Poly - for one day (post cruise stopover).

We have a chance to buy a $2500 2bd, 2bth room at the Sheraton Vistana for 7 nights (next week). We'd still have to buy tickets and airfare.

Can we get a better deal if we buy as a package through AAA or Costco and stay onsite (at a decent hotel, not the pop star stuff)? The Sheraton looks quite nice but the $2500 seems like we could get a better deal elsewhere (it was won at an auction so it is a bit high).

For $2500 is sounds like you are buying timeshare ownership, not just renting the week.
There are rental deals to be had elsewhere.

try

www.myresortnetwork.com

staying onsite with the pay for 4 and get 3 free nights and tickets - you probably definitely can - and that includes the tickets.

on the disneyworld site - click on the 4/3 at the middle/bottom of the screen

click on the dreams unlimited ad smack in the middle of this thread advertising their rates at the Sheraton Vistana. AS low as $99 a night. Up to about $139 with no houskeeping (more for housekeeping).

The $2500 price is a little low for an ownership price. Sounds like it was a huge donation at a fundraising auction. Way too sky high for the Sheraton for a week. It is still nice, but it is off site so should not be that expensive. If you want to spend that kind of money, stay in a villa on-site. If that is what you were going to pay before tickets - geez you could get a 2 bedroom at the wilderness lodge or Boardwalk Villas.

If you rather pocket the money, get a normal rate through the hotel or Dreams Ulimited and buy your tickets and save your money.

Not really talulabelle.....not for resale. I've been trying to sell my Vistana week for a year now. I think I'd have trouble giving it away at this point.
Orlando timeshares (except for DVC), on the resale market, are practically a dime a dozen unfortunately. People can rent at Vistana for way less that what I pay as an owner in MF's.

We stayed at Sheraton Vistana last summer in a 2 bed 2 bath for $99.00 per night. So, your $2500 is way overpriced for sure! It sound like maybe sombody was enting out their week of timeshare and making a tidy profit on their yearly fees. You could stay at one of the deluxe resorts on site or a DVC suite for about the same price. ;)

Yes...I agree.....that sounds like a price for a sale of timeshare (the right to stay at Vistana every year for 7 nights....and yearly maintenance fees would be involved too with that).

you can rent Vistana & many other timeshares much cheaper.
