Sheraton Vistana village vs resort

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 resorts? Which one is preferable or are the both pretty much the same. It seems that the resort has more activities. Thanks

Villages is generally newer, and generally considered nicer, though Resort has been upgrading several sections. Resort is closer to the parks.
