Sheraton Vistana Resort

I exchanged with II, and have unit 0266. I am going from may 17-14 in 2009. Any advice, or know which section I am staying in? Also I will not have a car, any advice for getting around the resort and to the parks?

Looks like you have the older Falls section.
The good news is that the Falls should be nearing the end of their refurbishment in May. So I would definitely requests a newly rehabbed unit. Go to https://www.mystarcentral.com/services/diamond.jsp?propertyId=01&IM=SVO_RC_DIA_SVR to make your requests.

As far as not having a car. That could prove a problem.

Vistana shuttles (time and destinations) are limited. They do not go to Universal or Sea World---only disney parks on a rotating basis. This was the shuttle schedule the last I checked :
The shuttle service is as follows :
7:55 am
9 am
11 am
12 noon

then pick up later in day :
4:30 pm
6 pm
8 pm
9 pm
and at park closing

For the morning rotation (I didn't get the evening rotation):
7:55 am MK and AK
9:00 am MK and MGM
11;00 am MK and EPCOT
12:00 pm ALL parks

So you can't pick and choose which parks you want to go to on whatever days you choose. They don't go to the disney water parks. You'd have to get there via a cab or catch a bus from a park or resort. I would NEVER rely on the shuttles at Vistana. If I didn't have a rental car, I simply wouldn't stay there. Now on disney property, I'm fine without having a rental car.
Hope this helps. This was the last schedule I checked back in Jan. They may have altered it since I last checked ? Also, being in the Falls section, you will have quite a hike getting to and from the shuttle bus stop (there is only one at the front of the resort). If you have children especially, this walk back and forth will probably not be the most pleasent for you especially after a full day at the parks.

How many people will the falls hold in a 2 room villa. It says 6, but could I squeeze 8 in it? Also thanks for the great info.

Hi again....
The Falls only has twin sized beds in the second bedroom. All the other sections (except the Courts), have two FULL size beds.

So the "sleep 6" is :
2 in master king bed
2 in second bedroom (1 person per bed)
2 on pull out sofa (I believe is queen sized).

Only if you had two small children, could I see squeezing in 8. Two small kids could share a twin size bed ? But I don't think adults would be able to do this.

Be very aware that you could be ask to leave if you exceed the max occupancy. I'm not saying it is likely to happen, but I would definitely have a fall back plan in case you're caught.

Personally, I'd book something that actually sleeps 8. Some of the sections at Vistana do.

I would think there's a chance for anything and everything. But Vistana is so huge........and they don't check on these things. You just wouldn't be able to get a key card for all 8 people. Now....where it could be an issue from what I could see, is the shuttle. Since you don't have a rental, not sure if the shuttle is based on occupancy or key cards ? If it weren't for the shuttle, I wouldn't think the occupancy would be much of an issue.

Because i went through II, do you think there's a snowball's chance that they would upgrade me if I asked on the diamond lane form. Also does anyone have any pictures of the falls? My wife wanted to know if they have the jacuzzi in the master bedroom.

I only have pics of the Falls from the owners site. But the jacuzzi is in the master bathroom. Only the Fountains II, Lakes and Cascades have the jacuzzi in the master bedroom.

Oh...and yes...it's worth a chance to ask for an upgrade. The time of year you're going is not the busiest, so here's hoping. Definitely request it on the Diamond Lane form. Good luck.
