Sheraton Vistana Resort Questions

Hello! I have a few questions and have always gotten GREAT information from the Disboards...THANK YOU!

A few months ago my parents gifted us a week of their timeshare via II and we selected Sheraton Vistana Resort. Last week II notified them that one of thier weeks was going to expire in October and so they offered it to us and we will now be spending two weeks at Sheraton Vistana Resort in Aug/Sept. So, does anyone know if I can have our two reservations linked? Also, do you know if we can possibly stay in the same unit for the two weeks rather than checking out and checking back in? I did email them this question a few days ago but never got a response. I suppose it would depend on availability, etc. but just wondering if anyone has ever stayed in the same unit for more than a week. Not that it would be a big deal to pack up and move just hoping to avoid having to do that.

Also, does anyone happen to know if I can tell by the reservation number where we would be placed? Is there a specific area "designated" to II? Both weeks are Friday check in and are two bedroom two bath sleeps 6/8. The reservation numbers are just 6 numbers, no letters.

I truly appreciate any assistance the Disboard family can provide. THANK YOU!

We've been able to tie together two exchange weeks at the same resort before (a Marriott, not a Sheraton) and I think you're right that it depends on the availability of exchange inventory. But it also somewhat depends on how customer oriented staff at the resort are (it's a bit more work to research that availability to find consecutive weeks in one villa).

Vistana assigns villas to exchangers two or three weeks prior to check-in which may be the reason that resort staff hasn't responded to your email question. I'd suggest that you use the resort's Diamond Lane online service (https://www.mystarcentral.com/services/diamond.jsp?propertyId=01&IM=SVO_RC_DIA_SVR) in which you can make requests and then follow up with a phone call at that two to three weeks range prior to check-in.

I'd think that, with a resort as large as Vistana Resort, they should be able to satisfy your request - particularly if you let them know that you're flexible as to phase/location.

Cascades, Lakes, Fountains I, Fountains II, Springs, Spas and Palms all have Friday check-ins. Of these, all sleep six privately and eight in total except for Palms (6/6). Consequently, you may be placed in any of the six resort phases that meet the size and check-in day requirement.

THANK YOU both so much! Detailor you responded to my question a year ago about Sabal Palms and were so helpful! You are the timeshare expert! Believe or not, I got a response to the email I sent to the Sheraton and they have been beyond helpful! I am so looking forward to staying there. And again, THANKS so much for all your expert information, it has and continues to be so helpful!

You're welcome. :thumbsup2 I hope that the Vistana info helps, too.

You are the timeshare expert!

Thanks for your kind words but I demur. :) Lot's of people on these boards have a lot more timeshare expertise than I do. Folk like Brian Noble put my limited knowledge to shame.

That's good news. I think that customer service at Vistana has improved a lot since our first visit there in their pre-Sheraton days. It's a really good resort. Have fun!
