Sheraton Vistana RESORT (looking for deals!)

We have stayed at Silver Lake and at Grande Marriott Vista before, and we are thinking of staying at Sheraton Vistana Resort this time.

A few questions...

I am nervous that we wont get into a section that would be good for us - can anyone help with how accomodating they are with requests?

Also - we are looking for some deals on this. We have found a 1 bedroom for 625 for 7 nights and 725 for 2 bedroom, but we are looking to maybe not spend a full two weeks....so help! Where can I go for maybe promo codes or coupons or good travel sites to get a deal on this hotel (Or someone who is desparate to sell their points or whatever!) Thanks!

I would recommend Sheraton's Vistana Villages ... it's a new development and the accommodations are wonderful!

We know they are nice, but we are looking at the Resort not Villages because of closeness! Thanks anyway - does anyone have info on the Resort?

Try Timeshare sites like RedWeek.com for rentals from owners.

You could also recruit an Interval International member to purchase a Getaway guest certificate on your behalf. Getaways are non-refundable and paid in full when you place the reservation. But these are full-week rentals. We are using a Getaway for the Sheraton Vistana in November and got a week in a 2BR for $502.

There's some good Vistana info on DisBoards, including a link to the Diamond Lane check-in so you can request room features in advance. We aren't checking in until November but I went ahead and submitted the form and have already gotten a confirmation from them. (It didn't have a room assignment attached so I don't know yet where we'll be staying).

I placed an ad on TUG2.net (timeshare users group site) in their wish ad section for a two-week stay in august. I got about 10 responses, and went with Timeshare Travels, with a wonderful guy who contacted owners. I got each week for $700 total, with one week in Fountains and the other week in Lakes. Our preferred section is actually Springs which may still be being refurbished, but both Lakes and Fountains have already been refurbished.

I'm very happy with the price, and knowing my sections.

You can rent at Vistana by the night, and can often get a very good price. Those units are more likely, so I understand, to be in Courts or Palms, which we don't care due to landscaping and distance to the pools.

We received a message from Sheraton Vistana letting us know we could add single days to the Getaway week we purchased. A cost wasn't mentioned. We are considering tacking a day onto the end of our trip since the Saturday we check out is my dad's birthday and he would HATE to miss out on any Disney freebies. lol
