Does the sheraton vistana resort provide soap, shampoo, dish soap and disher washer tablet? I know that last year the villages did.

I was there last year, too and they will refill everything if you ask. I usually bring my own shampoo/conditioner anyway cause of my curly, out of control hair! Plus I'm picky about the stuff I put in my hair. But when you check in, just ask if they'll stock you up on some, or add it to your room everyday. This place is wonderful and never had a problem getting what I needed.

Yes...the do provide bar soap as well.....no shampoo though. At least last year they did not.........I'm back at Vistana next Saturday :thumbsup2

each village at the resort is different. they each have different management.

so what you get in one - you might not get in another one.

so what is part of the problems.

you should get soap, shampoo, disher washer detergent, a small box of detergent for the washing machine.

but no guaranteeds.

remember that there is drug store - Walgreens - in walking distance to most of Sheraton Vistana Resort - so if something is not there and calling housekeeping does not help - but always call housekeeping first - sometimes they have it and the maid just forget to leave it. You can walk to Walgreen

I think that is very odd that each area does not get the same items. I am starting to remember now that when we stayed in cascades, I think we got everything. This will be this first time we get midweek cleaning, so I figure they will replace everything. I always bring laundry soap, because I do laundry daily. Last year at the villages they gave us dish soap to wash the dishes by hand, I thought that we nice.

I've stayed in the Spas, Fountains I/II and Lakes.......all of these sections gave the same stuff. I never noticed a difference.

I usually stay in the Fountains and they always have liquid dish soap in the kitchen.

mind was lakes and Springs.

Springs definitely had more stuff - I tried and tried to get a baking sheet at Lakes- they never gave me one.

at Springs it was included in the cabinet.

when I finally complainted I got told each section of building could easily have stuff the other did not.

that say Lakes Maintence was wonderfully - so was the maid service!!! I got a towel animal there - a very, very nice one!

Springs maintence NEVER, NEVER came - and I called about 10 times. Mother had the second bathroom and the hot water NEVER came on not once.

The maintenance and housekeeping is exactly the same resort-wide. The different sections do not staff different personnel. All villas should be stocked exactly the same. If they are not, then that is an error on the resort's part and you should have gotten a cookie sheet. Either the people before you took it, or it got burnt and housekeeping threw it out----but they should have restocked it.

The fact that Springs did not bring it to you had nothing to do with the fact that they are a different section. This is the inconsistancy seen in many resorts. You were given incorrect information. Sounds like you had a lazy person who just didn't feel like looking for a cookie sheet for you. But to say Lakes housekeeping was wonderful, just meant you were there at a good time and had a good housekeeper assigned to your building. Sometimes it's hit or miss with any housekeeping/maintenance depending on your stay. Sorry your stay wasn't as good during your Springs trip.

Maria,

Have a great trip! As usual thanks for all you help and great tips.

Thank you Sue !
If anyone wants me to check anything out at Vistana while I'm there, just let me know.
I got the VIP call from them tonight. They started this last year with the owners---making sure they're aware of all requests and such. Then once you get there, they of course try and sell you more timeshare weeks.....:rotfl:

I am trading in for the first time, I wonder if I will get the call. Then maybe in can stress cascades section. Talk to you when you get back. I think you will be getting back and I will be leaving.

Does vistana give you a starter box of laundry detergent?
Unfortunately, no. DVC does. Vistana also stopped stocking liquid dish soap and salt and pepper packets. It's been a few years since I've seen those.

Now I remember, it was orange lakes that gave us the tide. How is the weather? Are you at OKW yet?

Hi again !
Unfortunately, not able to stay at OKW this summer. We used all our points to do a disney cruise next month. So we are packing now to move over to the Wilderness Lodge (not a bad consolation prize !).
It's HOT today....heat index expected 101-105 for the next couple days and no or very little rain in sight. They are saying the record for today is 97 and we could surpass it. Philly's record is higher than that, so this is nothing too extreme for us. In fact, last year when we came down this same time period, Philly had a week straight of 100+ temps and heat index's in the 105-110 range. But hot is hot.....once you hit a certain temperature, it all feels the same....:rotfl:

We had Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs rain in Orlando .....and LOTS of it on Wed and Thurs. Not sure about Friday because we spent the day with my relatives in Sebastian (near Disney's Vero Beach). It did pour there for 2 hours.

I wouldn't mind wilderness lodge at all. Have fun! I would rather have hot days than rainy days.
