hi everyone. just wondering if any of you have considered or stayed at the Sheraton Vistana? We are definetely staying off site and the reviews of this place are great, and only $130 per night for a 2 bedroom remodeled villa.

Wondering if any aussies have thought or done any research on it. still deciding with this one and bonnet creek.

We've looked at it and considered it a possibilty. We have timeshare and this is one that we would be happy to exchange into. There are several different sections and its seems they are all in the process of refurbishment. Some are less desirable than others but I think the refurb is scheduled for completion by April. There is a couple of great threads on the Orlando area board that would confirm this and recommend sections to request.

thanks princess, I am now deciding between this and Bonnet Creek, it is very hard. they both seem pretty good. i have been stalking all the threads as much as possible.

I can't believe the prices you can book for in orlando. It's impossible to stay anywhere in australia for $100 per night, but i have a quote for bonnet creek for around that, and the vistana is also around $140. and they are such a high standard.

and they wonder why local tourism isn't going so well in Oz :sad2:

The prices are pretty terrific. We have looked at both the Vistana and Bonnet Creek also. Another we quite like is the Marriott Harbour Lakes. The two bedroom villas here look quite nice aswell. Its not ideally the location we wanted to be but its not much further out than the Vistana and the water play area and pool look fantastic.

Oh no, sounds like another one to look into. I was also looking at the floridays resort which is rated really high on tripadvisor and is about the same price as the others.

We were thinking of Marriott Harbour Lakes and called there yesterday to inquire about the remodeling of the rooms...We were thinking of a 1 bedroom villa.. I heard certain buildings were getting renovated....I asked if i could request a certain bdg. number and she said yes 2 weeks before BUT not guaranteed! I don't want to stay here if we might get a good room....What if we get stuck with a lousy one that is in need of refurbishing? I think I will pass personally............ I did call though so I am a little on the fence about it..................

The rooms being remodeled at Marriott Harbour lakes are only 11years old anyway. Other parts of the resort are newer than this which is why they are not being remodeled. This is number 1 on our list now. Apart from the waterpark, its one of the few that has queen beds in the second bedroom. Most others only have doubles and some of the Vistana rooms only have twins. Tripadvisor has it rated quite highly aswell.

im travelling there (vistiana) in just over a week will come back and post pics and review for you xx

that would be awesome, we are 99% ready to book the vistana after much research so look forward to hearing how you went. have a great time. :thumbsup2

hi
Im back and we Had a lovely time the units are lovely, will post some pics when uploaded later, grounds are well kept and quiet, was not harassed by timeshare reps either x

Vistana is really nice, I wouldn't hesitate staying there again if staying offsite. But when you compare to Bonnet Creek, figure in the parking or shuttle cost to get to the parks for WDW.

thanks for the updates, i just put a hold on the vistana and we will wait and see if any further deals or specials come up between now and then. But booked for $167 per night, including all taxes so was really happy with that.

As promised her are pics, we moved after 2 nights to a diffrent section as we had the timeshare week plus 2 additional nights, so there 2 sets or room pics here, the second was cascades area and we preffered the location of this, id avoid fountains as its near the i4 and can be noisy.:-)

thanks for pictures really appreciate the effort, we have booked and will try and avoid the fountains as you suggest.

Hey WAMUM, yes I am waiting to see if any deals like free dining do come up, right now for our dates there are no real deals out and room and ticket prices at the WDW resorts are double that of sheraton. The kids are bigger as well so its not an issue being in a hurry to get back to the rooms, the kids want to stay as long as possible in the parks, plus we will have a car the whole time.

:confused:for some reason i thought that the new offer was for your dates i hope one comes out that covers yours then :goodvibes We are there 4 days to early the one time i am now regretting prepaying everything as it is all set in concrete cant change any dates:sad2:

Sometimes it is better to have everything confirmed, at least you don't have to keep checking prices like I am. I did read on another thread that they believe that specials for Oct will come out in June, here's hoping! Although I am quite happy with my current booking.
