hi,im staying in the sheraton safari with my wife and 2 girls from 23 may have any of you stayed there or know anything about it .cheers :cool1:

Hi Wesky

We've stayed at the Sheraton Safari a few times now for 3 nights or so. It's in a great location, near the Crossroads shopping area with shops and all sorts of different restaurants, next door to a Sizzler and Steak 'N Shake and a pizza/Italian place, Eckerds and Walgreens around too, Shoney and IHOP - enough food to last your holiday!

The hotel itself is fine. Accommodation is split into 4 (I think) different blocks, around a large free-form swimming pool with a great snake slide. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

The restaurant does good buffet breakfasts, but overpriced really. The rooms are fine as well, albeit slightly dark in theme, but the whole place is undergoing a huge renovation so that may be changed since the last time we stayed in October 03. They were also changing all the beds to the new Heavenly type beds, mmm hmmm. There's tea/coffee making facilities, a safe and the toiletries weren't too bad. We have always opted for a pool view room since you get a balcony. The family suites aren't too overly expensive, so might be worth asking about one of them if you wanted some extra luxury.

There is a games room, laundry room (alongside the pool so you can wash as you swim!), even a little gifty souvenir shop.

You're a 15 minute drive to Universal and 6-7 mins to Disney. I'm sure they had free buses that went there.

We have always had a nice time whenever we've stayed there - and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Tip one - because of the car parking, don't opt for a non-pool view ground floor room, noisy with the cars parking right up close to them.

Tip two - once you've checked in and you know which building you'll be in, next time you return to the hotel and park your car there are car parks alongside each building - saves walking around the opposite side of the hotel after the parks when your feet are tired ;)

Tip three - join the SPG - Sheraton Preferred Guest. Check out www.sheraton.com and go to their loyalty section, it costs nothing, you get a nice card and you get treated slightly better. You also earn points on anything you purchase at the hotel, in case you eat there all the time and want to use a Sheraton chain hotel again. What do points make? Prizes :cheer2: (Sorry, my mind is going . . . :sunny: ).

If you think of anything else, holler

Im off here too on the 16th April :cheer2: :cheer2: If anybody has been recenty and stayed in a suite I would appreciate some feedback.

Thx
Bekki
