Okay I am getting mixed reviews, mostly positive about this hotel. I heard it was a bit older, however, they have done updating and on the website it does look adequete for what we paid ($40 plus taxes and fees per night on priceline).

Anyone here have any opinions regarding this hotel?

Thanks!

I was there May 8-11 and thought it was great. The room was clean and the beds VERY comfy - also a balcony overlooking the pool which was nice at the end of the day. The staff was courteous and knowledgable.

The location is great too - right near DTD. I think you got a great deal for $40. :teeth:

We stayed there 1/1/04 - 1/4/04 for $69 a night thru DU. The room was big and clean. We had some problems checking in, given a key that didn't work, and then a key to a room that was already occupied, but we were compensated with a free breakfast. The breakfast was good and the service was great. Excellent location. We loved Chevy's across the street. The pool is big and if you have a pool view, you'll get some noise from the kids, but we have a little pool monster of our own, so it didn't bother us. The drinks in the bar are very very expensive, but aren't they always, LOL. I had read that the rooms are kind of dark, and thought boy those people must be fussy, so I laughed to myself every time I reached for the switch and realized the lights were already on. I think for $40 it's a great bargain!!!

Hi, is the Sheraton Safari considered a 2 or 3 star hotel on pl? Im getting ready to bid next week for Spt..can you please tell me whn you are going? thanks

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES (Glad to hear they are all positive!!!)

Kristen, it is a 3 * Disney Vicinity. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com and under the Florida/Orlando board you will see the most recent bids and what you get for them. Disney area only has 3 *'s and under, however, if you want luxury, click on resorts but NOT 3 *'s at the same time, you may end up paying a lot more for a 3 * than you intended.

If you need help navigating the biddingfortravel site, please let me know, you can PM me!

We just spent the weekend at the Safari. I got a junior suite at a great rate. There's really nothing wrong with this hotel, though it is starting to show its age a bit. Since we normally stay on-site, I was a bit disappointed with the themeing, since it seemed obvious to me that it was added after the fact. But the kids we were traveling with loved it. I'm convinced that the negative reviews about the hotel were written by people who either had an isolated bad experience, or were very, very picky.

For the price, amenities, and location, if you're staying off site (barely off site), this is a pretty good deal.

We will be staying at the Sheraton Safari for one night before checking into the Dolphin next week.
Can you tell me wher it's located in relation to DTD?
Thanks!

When you leave DTD, head up Hotel Plaza Boulevard. At the end is SR 535. Crossroads Plaza is straight ahead of you. Take a left at the lights. The Sheraton Safari is one block down on the far right corner at the next set of lights (Palm Parkway). Total travel time from DTD: about 5 minutes depending on how you hit the traffic lights.
