I need to pick up a night before I can get into WL. Has anyone stayed at the Sheraton Safari?

Good, bad or ugly?

I have never stayed at the Sheraton Safari, but I will be staying there in August for free. The TripAdvisor website has several reviews on this hotel.

If you open a new American Express StarPoints account you'll receive 10,000 points after your first charge on the card. That's enough points for 3 nights (2 weekend & 1 weekday) for free at the Sheraton Safari. The points can also be used at other hotels around the world.

I haven't stayed there since last May, but it's always been one of my fav off-site hotels. Fun pool slide, clean rooms, comfy beds and a great location right outside DTD.

We like Sheraton Safari. We've stayed there several times and are staying again this weekend actually Sat and Sun bf moving on to St. Augustine. We prefer the rooms with the indoor corridors and its a very nice, decent place. I would rate it a high 3 stars. If you have kids, there is a really nice pool with a slide so your kids will be happy. They also have suite rooms so the kids can stay in a separate area. We're Starwood members and I have to second the above about opening up an Amx Starwood card, its really worth it. They have good customer service also, if you're members and they have availability, they'll try to accommodate you with early check-ins or later check-outs. Its also very close to everything.

Stayed there last July. It was fine. Nice pool, polite staff. I'd have no problem staying there again.

How is the WDW shuttle from Safari? I'm assuming it's scheduled, and not every 20-30 miin. like on-site resorts. Or - can you walk to DTD from Safari to catch the Disney buses?

There is a scheduled shuttle, but I don't recall the times.

The walk to DTD would be close to a mile, maybe more.
